Use lots of Targetting Dummies and don't forget to loot them. They have a small chance of dropping fused wiring. That's the best way I know of.

Nice bit of info will do that

They drop occasionally from Mechanicals.

Gnomergan is probably the best place to farm for them.

It's a drop that depends on luck from whatever you're trying to get it from. I've used maybe 12 targetting dummies total and I've gotten 2 fused wirings. I've killed lots of those shredder things in STV and never had one drop. I spent 2 hours wiping out Gnomeregan the other day and got zero. It's all just a matter of luck.

This sounds accurate to me. I just bought the schematics for the jumper cables for my orc hunter and I’m having a hard time finding the wiring as well. I’ve been killing the one and only shredder that spawns about every five minutes or so at the venture company camp in SV and I’ve yet to get one to drop. I’m a bit surprised Blizzard made this item so incredibly hard to come by. Oh well, I guess I’ll be jumperless for a while longer.

I made 2 Targeting Dummies and got one to drop. It is luck, but I would suggest going with targeting dummies if you can find several for cheap on the AH, or if you have plenty of materials for them. Another suggestion might be taking a trip down to Gadgetzan, the AH there has the occasional good deal. It is a long trip, but definately one worth the time. I was able to get the First Aid book a lot cheaper by looking in the neutral AH...

Calabar I have got up to 3 on a gnomer run, i have seen folks just leave em. while the rate is lower than in STV, their are more mobs that can drop them, The tecbot looking guys are the ones i usualy get them from.

I had to make advanced target dummies for my gnomish engineering quest last night, so I made 4 extra with the supplies I had. The third one dropped a fused wiring. So I was also able to make my jumper cables. It was a good night for engineering. In addition to completing my gnomish engineering quest I made:

1) Goblin Jumper Cables
2) Deepdive Helmet
3) Gnomish Shrink Ray

Engineering is such a hoot.

LOL

For the people who said this is luck, you're wrong. Me and my level 39 friend went to kill the shredders. I was level 30 and I had 2 on me from earlier when I killed them with another persons help, then, I got 2 more and he got 3 in somewhere around 30 minutes. I didn't want the cables to much, so, I sold them for about 6g each. Next one I get (I might have one now not sure) I'm going to use for cables.

Would you like a medal?

The drop is percentage based as is almost every non-quest drop. The luck factors in on items with a lower drop percentage.

I will say that it is a wast of time to grind fused wiring coz you can earn much more on fishing at the Barrens. just buy the fused wiring for 1-5g and then you will earn much coz if you grind 1 hour at gnomeregan you will get 1 maybe 2. and if you grind at the barrens and sell you will earn about 20-40g on 1 hour....

and cokefreak is meant as coca cola lol P;

I got 2 fused wiring on a single gnomeregan run. The key was the grime-covered objects. sure, it's 3s a pop to clean one in the clean room and most of it turns out to be stone and worth very little. But having a stack of those objects cleaned and finding two wires, well, damn, that was certainly worth the 2 wipes later on! 1 hour of work, ~12g payoff ... doesn't seem all that bad to me.

what the heck are you talking about? Fishing in barrens 20-40g/hr? What are you fishing for and where?

My guess is Deviate fish, they can be sold for up to 50 silver each if you can cook tasty deviate delight. That said, I have caught up to 20-30 of the fish in a hr or so, I have never sold more than 10 a hr(5 Gold), and that takes a lot of my time. I dont sell them anymore, as i have found more reliable forms of income, but I still fishe em up every now and then. I am not buying that somebody is selling 80 fish an hr, much less pull up 80 Deviate Fish an Hr. Their is a lot of money in those silly fish.

Savory Deviate Delight is worth more than 50s per fish most of the time on my server (Bloodhoof). The standard price for them is about 5 gold for 5 fish. I made a lot of money selling at that price. Occasionally a bit of competition would spring up and the price would drop, but I just banked the fish until it went back to the price I liked.

The toughest part (aside from fighting sleep with the fishing) is to acquire the recipe for Savory Deviate Delight. It's between 40 and 60 gold for it on Bloodhoof, but you can probably get one if you just massively murder all the mobs in the Barrens. As a 57 Hunter, I can multishot and take out three at a time, so I did, and after about 300 kills, I netted the recipe. Its not only worth it for the money, but it randomly morphs you into the form of a Pirate or a Ninja. There are other effects, but I believe they've really narrowed the chances for them to occur. I get Pirate or Ninja about 75% of the time.

I believe they've nerfed the rate these fish are caught at, because the rate is about 20 Deviate per hour of fishing. Used to be about 40 or more. I also have consistently caught more Deviate Delight from INSIDE the instance than in the lakes outside. Might be luck, but it's better, and you don't have to deal with the Horde hopping around in front of your bobber in hopes of having you instigate PVP.

Looks like Stormpike shredders are the best source, around 20%, followed by Compact Harvest Reapers, around 15%. Gnomregan doesn't seem so good - nothing there has a 5% chance to drop, and with my luck a 1 in 20 chance ain't gonna happen. YMMV...

Target dummies is the easiest way to get fused wiring.

Advanced Target dummies drop it more frequently than normal, as Masterwork Dummies drop it more than Advanced.

My warrior was an engineer and I use target dummies so often for surviving a bad pull or additional adds. If you just use them throughout your day you will get more than enough fused wiring to create devices that require them.

Depending on server / time of day/ day of week. You can make a small profit out of purchasing the ingredients for regular and advanced target dummies and using them as soon as the cooldown expires. You then sell the wiring on the AH which can fetch up to 9/10 gold each in "good" times.

Good for the seller/ bad for the engineer looking for them.
