Problem with blacksmithing specializationFollow

#1 Aug 05 2005 at 3:27 PM Rating: Decent
Okay people, this subject has probably already been beat to death, but I'm having a slight problem that maybe someone can help me with.

I realize from reading everything here that in order to specialize in weapon/armor smithing you must be level 40 and have at least 200 blacksmithing skill. I have a level 41 paladin with a blacksmithing skill of 230, and for some reason I can't seem to get any quests to choose a specialization. I'm Alliance and the guy in the great forge directs me to the dwarves by the great anvil, but they both don't have anything to offer.

The armor crafter says that he will take me on and train me, but there's no option to do so, and the weapon crafter just says "Greetings Human"

Is there something that I'm missing here, or does this sound like there's something borked with my character?

Any Ideas?

at that level you can go either weaponsmith or armorsmith
the quest giver is at the forge in Ironforge think you need to get artisan fist by visiting the master blacksmith in STV at level 50 you get to specialize even more

I had to be level 45 to choose my path. You don't get the quest from them till level 45. At that point you can pick which one you want. Remeber though you can't go back once you pick. Even if you start smithing over again.
