Is there an auction house in Booty Bay, Stranglethorn Vale? I read that there was, but when I finally got there to see for myself, I couldn't find it.
(The town is a rat's nest. It took me forever to find the gryphon master.)

I don't think so. For one thing its too far out of the way for that many people to come there a lot. And for another thing, it's neutral territory. I think it would be silly if alliance and horde were both holding seperate auctions from the same place.
That's what im thinking. I have been there quite a bit too, as I fish there. And I havent seen one.

no there isnt a auction house in booty bay. though if you want to trade with horde/alliance you should go to gadgetzan. because the auction house in gadgetzan is neutral ( both factions can use it).

Like Lak said above, both factions can use.
So if you have both alliance and horde character on a server, that's one way you can exchange items back and forth. Just set a low buyout price on 1st char, come back on the 2nd and buy it. Easy as that =).

not in the case of PvP servers at least. it is important to remember that the fees are much higher.

Booty Bay has a bank not an auctionhouse. As with the nutral AH in Tanaris there is never anything good in it on the PvP servers I've been on. I'd suggest you stick with the AHs in IronForge and Orgrimmar.
The neutral auction house used to be in Booty Bay, at least during beta. But for some reason Blizzard relocated it to Gadgetzan when they released the game. I expect that Blizzard had their reasons, but I find it rather a shame. It’s fairly easy for low level characters of both factions to reach Booty Bay. My alliance characters have swam there in their low teens and horde characters can take a ship. But Gadgetzan is a pain in the butt to get to. You almost have to be about level 40 to get there. Thus the neutral auction house is not nearly as access able now as it was during beta.
I’m afraid that won’t work. Characters on the same account cannot bid on their own auctions. You would either have to have a second account or have the help of a friend.

as he said above.. you can't buy your own auctions.. with the same account that is.
on the subject of lowbies getting to gadgetzan, I have 2 accounts (other members of my family play) and 2 comps.. and I have a level 3 nelf and a level 8 tauren in gadget.. you just have to run thru (dustwallow for the alliance) + south barrens and 1k with a mid-high 30's character in lead, aggroing everything on the path, while the lowbie runs in behind you...
plus the nelf death wisp travel speed thing is nice....
he got to level 3 just from exploring the map.
