I do Herbalism right now and was thinking of starting enchanting but I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how much it costs.

Enchanting can be very expensive or rather IS very expensive. The ingredients are very expensive, but you can get it by disenchanting green+ items. Then U only loose the money U could have had by selling the items.

Normally tailoring is a good combination with enchanting, as U can can make green cloth, which U can disenchant. Together with herbalism i recon that U will have a hard time. But it might be worth a try

Enchanting is best taken when you're level 40.

Alchemy would make life alot easier for you, in later levels you can make some good money too...its hard to profit with enchanting

i agree, if you stay with Herbs then Alchemy would be a much better choice for you. However many differant things work. you could do Enchanting/herbs because herbs sell well on the AH. So it depends on you and what kind of time you have to farm.

.....but thats just my 2 cents :)

If you are going to take "enchanting" as a gathering profession like herbalism, it can be profitable and cost you almost nothing.

You can disenchant as soon as you take the enchanting skill. You then disenchant every green or higher you come across and then sell the results in the AH. You never need to go beyond the basic skill you get when you first signed up for enchanting (assuming you don't care that your skill is permanently stuck below 75 :-) ). Unless they changed enchanting, you can disenchant any item with a 1 skill in enchanting. On the early level greens, you might not make much as there are tons of low level greens around, but once you start collecting components from higher greens, you should be able to turn a profit. Shards in particular are usually in high demand but I think those only come from blue drops (my enchanter hasn't gotten any yet, but i'm doing it for the full skill and not as a gathering profession and only at about 100 skill so far).

Enchanting is expensive but it is profitable in the end (if you last all the way there)

If you are going to take up enchanting, keep herbalism. You probably will profit from selling the herbs than you will from DEing tailored green items.

good luck~
