Armorsmith vs. Weaponsmith helpFollow

#1 Jul 13 2005 at 9:05 PM Rating: Default
Ok, I am a 42 paladin that just switched from gnomish engi to blacksmithing and would like input as to what to eventually specalise in. I am thinking that armorsmith would make me more money and be more useful since I have already decited what my "end-game goal" weapon will be (the craftable mace that only requires blacksmithing 300). So my real question is which makes more money, armorsmithing or weaponsmithing?

I'm posting simply to say that you, Hardnotes, are a D I C K H E A D. Seriously.

If the post was already made, hey, maybe you could try not being a jerk and paste a link, or maybe just repeat the info from that post! That's what normal people would do.

Instead, you chose not to do either of these things, and rather to insult someone who took the trouble to post here, hoping to receive help from a friendly WoW player. I joined especially to tell you this, and also that people like you give these forums a bad atmosphere. You might think that because you are too obsessed with WoW and visit this site constantly that it means if YOU'RE exasperated with someone's post, then everyone else must be.

This isn't the case. The truth of the matter is that you need to get a life, and not be a F A G. Alright? If you have a problem with me posting this, you can kiss my white A S S. HA! Suck it, B I T C H!

ANYWAY, SpaceHawk -- to answer your question, I've heard that Weaponsmiths can make more money from their items. Armorsmithing is more useful for people who want to make themselves great gear, but the range of items Weaponsmiths can sell can (though they all take a lot of time and initial expenditure) net some sweet cash.

I think that you are probably going to want to go armorsmithing if you are a class that can use plate. The simple truth is that it will be harder to make money with armor smithing than weapon smithing because of the rarity\cost of materials; however, in the long run, you will have have the option of wearing and selling some of the best gear in the game.
On the other hand, I beleive weaponsmithing to be more profitable than armorsmithing because of 2 main reasons:

1. Demand: the only 2 classes that can use plate armor are Paladin and Warrior, therefore you will likely find less flexibility in pricing certain pieces of armor than you would weapons.

2. Materials: are, for the most part, less rare to get for weapons and therefore, less cost and\or less time taken farming for them.

In short, the less time and cost that it takes you to gather the materials for an item and the greater demand for that item will equal a higher profit margin in the long run.

At 270 and weaponsmith spec I find I can sell my phantom blades and truesliver champions for way more cash than anything my armoursmith guildy of roughly the same skill can make.

The extra cash goes to buying material..etc..etc faster to 300.
