Can you reset specialization?Follow

#1 Jul 12 2005 at 7:29 PM Rating: Decent
I have a character with completed armoursmith, but with the new reciepe's I want him to be weaponsmith. Is this possible?

My guess is that I have to delete blacksmithing on him and start it from journeyman again, but I'd like to know that its going to work before I do that.

Anyone know if this works?
Anyone know of a better way?

Back to square one. If you're wanting weapons you are right in starting again in journeyman. Pretty much have to listen to your trainer when they say "Are you SURE you want to go this route? It's for life if you do."

Are you sure?

I asked this question on 3 boards, both the other replies said it doesn't work. You reset the BS skill, but stay same specialization.

Your sig claims your highest character is 21, have you tried this or are you just guessing?

As for the "are you sure you want to go this route", well your right, they do say that, but 4 months ago when I did armoursmith, patch 1.6 wasn't announced. The game has changed, thus the basis for what I decided 4 months ago is out of date.

I read on the Blizzard site that you cant reset specialisation. So dont bother removing your skill, just make a new character.

You CAN NOT change your specialization in any of the professions. You can drop the skill and start from scratch but when you build your skill back up you will still be stuck with the same specialization you had before.

When my engineer did his quest to become a gnomish engineer I actually became annoyed with the number of times I was told my choice would be forever. I understood it the first, second and third time they told me. They really didn’t need to keep repeating themselves.

The only way to take a different specialization is to start another character. And thankfully WoW is very friendly when it comes to alts. Most people have at least one or two. So if there’s another class that you’ve wanted to try out, you could have that character become a weaponsmith.

About that ^^ I had gnomish engineering, quit for blacksmithing and then went back to engineering. Now when i try to go to the gnome engineer trainer it says in red that i need to have gnomish engineering to use them :S do I have to retake the mission or something?
