Just a curious question here, I'm not gonna rant or nuthin, but...

Why am I seeing an increasing number of Rogues who are miners?

I've never seen them before, until last week, when they started moving into Duskwood, High 30s to early 40s running around all over the place, covering Roland's Doom, the Mushroom Cave near Roland's, sometimes even the Ogre Mound.

I'm just wondering if the current "in" thing is to make a rogue mule, quick-level it to Lv40, and have it go mine all of the stuff your blacksmithing characters need or something.

Now, I can always go to Thousand Needles, or Arathi, or what-not for my mining needs, but I always liked Duskwood. I get lots of tin and copper to make my Bronze, and I get a few gold as well, and the mobs are Green to me so they can give me a little exp on the side and sometimes I like to go and solo Morladim and what-not for fun. I'm not ranting about the scarceness of mining points in Duskwood nowadays, I'm just wondering if that's the reason rogues are taking up mining, or if there's another reason...

I think(yes its true xDD,twice a year xD):

-Those rogues arent the main character, and many ppl have only gathering proffs. in secondary characters for raising two crafting proffesions in their main char.

-The ppl who made new character have understood that crafting isnt the way. U can only gather and sell all to make early benefits. If u've found a recipe that teaches a Bop, u can drop a gather and choose that crafting.

(also, possible but not probable):
-There is a schizophrenic run, like Gnomevasion, but this time is "minervasion" :P

rogues are able to get into places safer and faster than most other classes. they can also solo very well to kill individual mobs around resources. its likely the chinese farmers have discovered this and have swapped over to rogues.

message one of them some time, see what the response looks like. if its similar to "What you say???" or "You have QQ!??" then you're speaking to a bona fide farmer.

I'm an engineer myself so it only makes sence that I mine. I believe the majority of rogues are engineers.

I've a rogue alt that's sk/mi. Give the ore to my hunter for eng, and sell off the leather. Tbh it's not that great atm (early-mid teens) as the $$$ is pretty far from pouring in. Thinking of just switching the rogue to herb/alch instead.

I'd go eng/mi on the rogue, but I dislike eng alot right now. Not doing alot except eating resources.

Rogue, miner engy here... I have found that with mining I can reach the hard to get nodes & also kill the mobs to get the mats that I need. Sap works wonders when trying to mine thorium by some Scarlet.

I created a rogue miner/blacksmith because I already have the other professions covered with alts. And its turned out to be a fairly decent combo for me. Rogues solo well, which is good for me since I tend to be very selective about who I group with. Stealth lets me walk right past yard trash I don't want to bother with. Mining is a great money maker and blacksmithing isn't bad either. I can level up making greens and if they don't sell well in the AH I can always just ship them over to my enchanter to be disenchanted. Its a good combo.
