I have tossed a coin and decided to become a Miner/Skinner and I have to say I have never been happier with the outcome. The combo is meant strictly to make profit but there are so many benefical results from doing so. I am trying something that I haven't seen done often (if I am mistaked please correct me) I am a wandering merchant who sells or trades my goods to those in major towns that aren't near IF. People seem to enjoy the convience and so long as the prices are fair you can make quick coin while pleasing many players.
If you like keeping the economy thriving this is the way to go - you get both quick profit and sure buys from the AH. Keep the prices fair but not so low that you kill the market and you will make enough money that you can buy things other people made which in turn helps everyone. I have made so many new friends from this system that it increased the gameplay value ten fold.
It's fun to collect things, help other people, and come on how good does it feel to see that little enevelope appear? Its a win win for everyone.

well on many character I have done double gatherer but the fact is late game you make more money esp. blacksmithing selling the goods you make. Yes early levels this is very good to make money for a mount. But i would say after level 40 when you have your mount take a proffesion like blacksmithing leahtorworking and alchemy. In the long run you will end up making alot more money with these crafts then gathering skill. Rlus you may eventually benefit yourself making a epic item or rare item. Enchanting is one fo those odd ball crafts thats different from the others I would defintly start that late game unless you have good hook ups to get those rare items to disenchant. Theres nothing worse then having to disenchant a blue item that you could of sold from some money for your mount.

U can talk to your guild-mates, to make items with the components u've recollected.(If the item isnt Bop), u can make money,too.

maybe gathering is fun, i never tried it. but i think that a profesion, which alows you to make items for your self or other is more interesting than doing the same monotonous mining/skining :D
