I've recently made an ALT horde Troll and got him level 60 Leatherworking and Skinning lvl 110 and am wondering, how do I get medium leather? I know you need 4 light leather but I'm curios how you make it, or if it can be skinned.

All kinds of leathers(exept hides, and core leathers) can be found by 2 differents ways(a chest isnt a way xD):
1-Upgrading a low lvl leather(Ligth->Medium->Heavy->Thick->Rugged)
2-Skinning
I remember... When i was in arathi highlands, killing raptors, they usually drops medium leather(they also drop raptor hides, or heavy leathers, but in a inferior amount)
Best way: Buy at Ah, if u have an Alt char at lvl 60(i guess the main is a lvl 60,too), u can buy the leathers from Ah.

Medium leather starts dropping rarely from mobs around level 15+ and gets more frequent with levels until the upper twenties when Heavy Leather starts dropping. That's about the way it proceeds all the way to rugged. Thick can start appearing rarely in the upper 30s and Rugged can start appearing in the upper 40s.
Making one leather from another, at least on my server, is a complete waste of time and money. The only reasons to ever do it are if you can actually skill on it (only if the recipe is at least yellow and this wont be an option at all with higher level leathers) or if you need just a few more of one kind to finish out a recipe and you have the lesser ones needed in inventory.

New Leatherworker Question:
How do you craft? I skinned a piece of light leather off've a wolf, but I can't figure out how to do anything with it. Are there special "crafting items" you need (like crystals in FFXI), or...what?

First, find the trainer and learn the skill. Second, open up your spell book and find the icon for that craft. Click it. Select a recipe in the list and click "create". Crafting in WoW is not the torturous, time-consuming exercise in frustration that it is in FFXI.
