I'm trying to up my leather and need heavy leather....where is the best place to farm it

Where else? STV. Most beasts there will give you heavy leather.
And there's a big chance that you'll find dead beasts all over the place... FREE skins =)

I completely agree with STV and would also throw in Thousand Needles and the Shimmering Flats.

In my opinion STV lvl 41 gorrilas are the best!!! PEOPLE are killing them all the time and u can just skin away for heavy leather and sometime thick leather WOOT

No need to even go for the 41+ gorillas. Stay with the Jungle Thunderers that are 37-38 and you can get a ton of skins, both heavy and thick.
STV for sure. Just follow the people around who are doing the Gorilla quests just outside of Booty Bay. You will get all the leather you need without having to kill a thing.
Dustwallow Marsh, Desolace, Arathi Highlands and Swamp of Sorrows can be good, as well as the aforementioned STV.

I wouldn't recommend the Gorilla spot just above Booty Bay unless you can deal with the level fortyish stealthed panthers that also spawn there.

I would definatly say STV, personally i like the Gorrilla's because you get the leather and their drops sell ok

when i needed heavy leather i always farmed it off the yetis near Tarren Mill (forgot the zone name)
Whatever you do. STAY AWAY FROM DESOLACE. Mobs rarely drop HL there. That and nobody wants you there.

As said above...STV ftw
Thousand Needles in Shimmering Flats give me lots of Heavy Leathers, and of course, STV since all it is is beasts!
Here is one for you.... Duskwood. The first consistant HL drops I saw were from the Worgen south of town. Lots of them to skin for free and if you are higher level, you can mow them down like wheat before the scythe.

Worgen in Darkshire (still seems odd that you can skin these "humanoids" ... like Yetti in that respect).
