what water? is it water with a fishing trainer next to it? because thats what you need, a fishing trainer, they will give you the skill and the button on your skillbook to fish.

If you haven't trained in fishing yet find the trainer (scroll down the left column and click on List of Trainers) then you'll get a little fishing icon. Buy a fishing pole, stand near water and click the fishing icon. You'll see a bobber in the water. Place your mouse over the bobber, wait until it sinks then right click the bobber to hopefully catch a fish or item.

Lol that wont happen, use your fish to level up your fishing skill, sell firefin snappers, Oily Blackmouth and Stonescale Eels to alchemest, cook your fish to raise your cooking skill. dont count on loot form most fish, eat em, feed em to your pet(if ya got a pet cat, hunter only).

Fishing is a good way to kill time between boatrides. Since everybody can fish and it dosent take up a profession slot, so your fishing skill is not rare or in demand, it is a time killer, and a way to get fish, if you plan on making any real money.... stop fishing now. Some of the endgame fish have nice buffs when cooked but those players that want said fish, will fish them up.
