Need to find more exotic stuff for leatherworkingFollow

I have reached level 125 at leather working and need help on turning this into a better income stream.

I'm also a skinner with around 225 skill and a hunter lvl 28.

Up to now I've been making the same old same old and selling to vendors or at auction to basically afford to buy more dyes & thread.

However, I want to start making more exotic items, gain in level and make this a business.

Is there a guide that can show me where to find most of the raw materials. Murloc scales are a piece of cake to find, but where to find black feathers and other more exotic stuff is a mystery to me.

I don't want to buy at auction as I find this to be a quick and lazy fix, especially as I am a hunter.

Help appreciated.

And will Probly remain so for a while, jet black feathers come form birds in the blasted lands and a few other places, ironfeathers come form the birds in Felwood/Winterspring I have some advice for you, I see where you think this is going, but it isnt. You will not make big money selling rare items form LW, those items that you are refering to as "exotic" are best for you and your buddies. Firstly you will be hard pressed to find somebody to pay what you want for crafted LW items, most folks have a guild and can just ask somebody to make it for them, usualy at cost or the person farms the rare items and Boom ya got a new pice of armor, and you didnt have to pay anybody. Secondly getting the materials is a PITA and usualy not worth the time you will spend gathring them.

Not to say that you wont make any money, It would just appear that you are targeting the worng items to make. Things to sell as a LW to make money,Green leather armor(Smiths use this to make armor), hillmans cloak(this is a item that is needed to finish a quest)and Armor kits, they are less than fun but they sell, everybody uses em, form cloth to plate. But the real key to money making, just sell the leather and stop trying to trun a proffit form low to mid level Leatherworking tiems(except a few rare examples)

As far as finding out where things drop goes, You are already at the right place :) Just use this site and item searches. It has all the information you need.

Thank you for your honest reply.

I have enjoyed crafting in this game, it does'nt take over your ability to be combatative (unlike Star Wars Galaxies, my last MMORPG).

I'm having fun crafting and in all honesty I only want enough money to be able to buy weapons on levelling.

Thanks again.

:)
