I know i can cap my lock picking at 175 off the polly chest inside the ship but at 100 it has almost stopped gaining (1 point every 15-20 attempts). Ive heard you can also gain EXP off the "Poison Quest"....Where do i pickup this poison quest and how will i gain xp from doing the quest ?
Any tips woiuld be appreciated

you can always go to Stonetalon Mts. to the Venture Co. area, there are many chests on the ground there, also Hilsbrad Foothils, there's a Syndicate Keep (forgot name), there are few chests on the ground there and you can do the Ravencroft quest there too.
one more thing, start picking pockets of all humanoids, you will pick up boxes from them and some will help you build PP. but many will be too low by than.

around 100 you can gain points by picking boxes in the lake in redridge.
when thsoe start to go green, move to the boxes in wetlands near the murlocs. though as with most craft skills, when the item just barely turns green, you still can get good point skill up ratios on them too.
those 2 areas are great bc you're not picking the same boxes and they are yellow or higher, meaning a guaranteed point every time. easy to max out every time you level up for quite a few levels.

For the horde side, you can gain the poisons quest from one of the rogue trainers in the cleft of shadows in orgrimmar, as far as i remember. to level lockpicking beyond 100, i did my poison quest, and then use dthe chest at the top of the tower to level it up. the tower is northeast of crossroads in barrens, and has a 24 or 26 elite goblin at the top who respawns every few minutes. after its green/grey, or your skills 175, i think you can pick the doors at gnomer/scarlet monestary.
You can get the quest from Mathias Shaw in SW at SI:7, that will take you to Westfall and the tower in the southeast corner. At the top of the tower there is a chest that you can LP until ~175. You probably wanna be high enough where Kelvin isnt gonna argo you (about lvl 35 I think), and if he does that you can beat him. After 175 go to SM till about 225 I think, after that I've had great success doing LPing in IF because now you can open almost any lockbox/junkbox, and I've gotten some nice tips for doing so (as high as 3g). You can also do the Searing Gorge gate in Loch Modan you can do 1 side and then the other for 2 points, I dont know the refresh rate but its pretty slow.
