I'm a Lv31 Paladin, and being my first character in WoW, I might have made a few ill decisions along the way, like any newbie would. I chose Mining and Blacksmithing on advice of some of the stuff I read, and, common sense.
But I started to notice something throughout my Blacksmithing days early-level.
I noticed that the stuff I could make paled in comparison to things I could buy from the IF Auction House. I got into this thing where "why do it? these items suck anyway" and I stopped levelling blacksmithing. I only levelled blacksmithing when I picked up stones that I turned into grinding stones for skillups.
Well, right now, I'm Lv31 and my Blacksmithing is on, I think, 96. The only viable "Orange" Product I could make, are Runed Copper Belts, and the Recipe is 10 (!!!) Copper Bars. Ouch.
My Mining is, I think, 150 or close to it. I can't get to very many good spots for iron to try and raise mining so I guess that's not going up anytime soon.
My question is...
Without pissing newbies off by mining early level areas like crazy for Copper, and without getting ripped off at the AH in IF, where do I get loads of copper? Westfall gives me way too much Tin, I end up with more Bronze than I do Copper.
Now, I Could make Rough Bronze Boots, as well, but still.
Any suggestions on this?
When does Blacksmithing start making me items I can use myself? I noticed with Rogue, from Level 1 clear up until Lv17+, I'm wearing what I made for myself, as each new recipe usually adds something neat I can make and use. Blacksmithing doesn't seem to be the case. Or am I just missing some good plans?
