#1 May 26 2005 at 10:20 AM Rating: Decent
What do u think is the best engineering item that can be made?

Im at 248 engineering and so far the one thing i use more than anything else are these three things: Net-o-Matic Projector, Gnomish Universal Remote, And deepdive helmet

Those are my favs so far and i use them all alot.

If you know any more or ones that u think are best plz reply to this and tell me where u found it and what it does . I would appreciate it alot and would love to see what other stuff is out there

Flawless Arcanite Rifle.

greatest thing you can make.

Depends on what you are ...

Shaman - that shield thingy
Hunter - Flawless Arcanite Rifle/the scope that gives +3% to hit
Anything else - Goblin Rocket Helmet

This coming from a 280 Goblin Engineer Hunter, lol.

i have found the net-o-matic almost worthless, unless for raids. meh, the most useful i've found is the gnomish shrink ray. works in every situation against any enemy type. casters it decrease there attack power there for ezier to hit, melee it decreases there hit power. win!

What do u guys think about the gnomish death ray.

Also do u prefer goblin engineering or gnomish engineering?

Me personally i prefer gnomish because of the variety but i guess that some people prefer bombs and things that explode more than devices..

one of the most usefull engineering items would be the repair bot you get in BRD. Nothing is better when everybodys armor is broken and you wip that bad boy out.

Deathray is really recommanded to someone who has the HP to use it. Since it takes 4 seconds to use, and every second, the Deathray suck up 120-200 hp from the user. But I use Deathray on ALL instance bosses.

ok my favorite item (coming from a 44 hunter 275 gnomish engineer) DEFINATELY the Gnomish Death ray & Shrink Ray with the deathray even if it takes 500-600 of ur life away u can still blast the enemy for a lot. the most i have ever hit someone/something for was 2187 and it always hits for more then 700 (i found).

My personal favorite is the Gnomish Death Ray, Being a cloth wearer and using it can hurt... but I am a demonlock and with soul link the damage done to me is very minimal as I share it with my pet. Just made it yesterday biggest hit so far was 1800+ dmg it was a one hit one kill case for that troll shaman :)

I forgot to mention the Goblin Sapper Charge. Despite the damage that I take from it, it helps a lot. And I haven't tried it yet ... but it might flush out invisible rogues ...

Deathray is fun and highly useful for alot of situations but eats health like no other. I started this baby up at half health thinking it will only do 600-800dmg to me no biggie, It did 400 per second for 4 seconds hit the mob for 4.3k i died to the mobs last h it :( Still 4.3k!??!?! WTF OVERPOWERED, NERF ROGUES>?! wait, nvm this is Allakhazan no forums.worldofwarcraft.com.

My engineering is currently 225, but I make a lot of discombobulator rays. They're a great help for soloing, especially when they stick on an elite, and they're hilarious in pvp!

Death Ray: Did 3305 damage on a lev 58 elemental in Silithus... wow!

Shrink Thingie: Great for hunter since it's only reducing melee attack power and keeps ranged power untouched if it fails :)

Dynamite: great for hunters too since it does huge additional damage and doesn't interrupt your auto shot.

The teleport thingie to Gadgetzan - have yet to make it, but it's the main reason I abandoned skinning and skilled engineering up to 300 in 2 days :)

C'mon ppl what about the battle chicken pulled out the other day wiped out 3 lvl 55's and gave me battle squawk that increased attack speed 5% for 5 mins.....? lol. I like the Shrink ray 2.

note to engineer priests: PW:S absorbs the damage from both the gnomish death ray AND the sapper charges...causes the PW:S to drop sooner, but it helps a lot. I'm gnomish and have a goblin friend churning out sapper charges for me whenever I get her the mats. Mithril dragonling, baby.

Best item? The net gun has proven invaluable in warsong gulch, except for one game, the only 3 times I used it I had the flag ant it malfunctioned...but being able to just target and net the guy chasing you is priceless.

Definitely deathray

Moderate cooldown time though it sucks when you get interrupted and loose it.

My highest deathray crit is 3998 :) I can usually get in the 1200-2k range too.

Sorry guys, but as a rogue, I'm going with Goblin Jumper Cables XL. These babies have saved my MC raids more times than Wal-Mart customers do on a typical weekday.

Its very useful once I vanish and go OOC to rez a much needed healer.

Gadge transporter is just lovely, and the Hyper-radiant flamereflector thingy is just cool. 18 fire resist in trinket slot, w00t? And can´t forget the random surprised gnome mage hit by his own fireball ;)

Best Engineering item.. I guess that is a tough one, but here is my humble opinion as a 60 MC/BWL Hunter/Goblin Engineer. In terms of PVE Raid content it's the repair both easily. Now then for PVP It's honestly a tie, if I don't say the Deathray I'll catch no end of flak =P but personally the Gnomish Mind Control cap is priceless. Many horde on the Argent Dawn Server (or the "The Alliance Gankfest Server" as someone quoted it on this thread) have learned not to be caught flagged near their windriders if I'm nearby. Yes you can MC Cap someone turning them into a pet and force them to attack their own Windrider and watch them get absolutely destroyed, lots of fun! In terms of money making a lot will tell you Core Marksman's Rifles which is pretty much at this point a lie. The 6 cores are hard enough to come by if you are not in a top end guild on your server, and if you are especially since 1.6 you are not gonna be able to get the cores to make a rifle to sell unless the money is going to bank. Most of my money from Engineering is Sniper Scopes to be honest, sure if I can buy the cores in AH I will gladly make a Core Marksmans Rifle and put up in AH =). As for a quick note, someone saying it was the second best weapon in terms of DPS is not true. Rhok'Delar (Hunter Epic), Blastshot Rifle and Striker's Mark all out DPS the Core Marksman. But on another note nothing is quite as sexah as the giant silver Supersoaker with a huge searchlight on top of it either, not even the flower sprouting hunter epic bow. But these are all my opinions as well, good luck and have fun blowing yourselves up with Engineering!
