Transmuting Arcanite Bars - Worth the trouble?Follow
I finally got up to the point where I can now transmute arcane crystals into bars but is it really worth the trouble? The sell price for arcanite crystals on my server is 25 gold, and the bars sell for 30. I am trying to find out the uses for the bars - I did see an epic armorsmith recipe that used 20 arcanite bars. Is there an actual big market for these?

Well it worth it for the guild. Guild smiths (usually warriors as well) need the arcanite for their weapons and armors. I dont know about transmuting for random ppl. On my server transmute is about 5 gold. Ask ur guildmates if they need arcanite and transmute for them.
Have you ever noticed that it is always cheaper to buy the finished product? that just how it works, but if you cant figure out how to sell the service of Transmuting then their is something worng.

Transmuting arcanite is an easy way to make 3-5g (depending on how much they go for on your server) every 2 days without farming or spending any money.
Make a Partnership witha blacksmith or a engineer, worked for me, i have a flawless arcanite rifle waiting for me in the bank, though i do have a pretty much perminant contract with said engineer, I get a cut on him selling the bars, and yes, he's a guildie

In general, I would say transmuting Arcanit Bars is well worth your trouble. Not only will your Guildmates need it, but others will need it too. The key to making money with Arcanite is to watch prices at the AH. Arcane can sometimes go for as little as 20g, which if you sell it at 30g, you are making 10g profit! Thorium is relatively cheap at 8g for 20, it's practically a steal.
You need to check relative pricing at the AH as well. Check Arcanite prices. They usually fluctuate between 30-50g a piece. I've sold an Arc Bar for 50g on a few occasions. Profit-wise they are the easiest 5-10g you can make. My advice is not to take the 5g others offer you, since you will likely make MORE money.
I transmute for guildies for free, and only ask for a small donation if necessary. I've gotten over 300g from selling arc bars alone, so I'd say it's worth it. As with everything, you need to watch the market and strike while prices are high.
Unfortunately, I have an epic quest for a hat that requires Arcane Crystals, so I will have to same those for now, but I guarantee, I will be transmuting when I finish that quest!
