Money Help?Follow

Hey guys I am a puny, 11.5 Mage. I don't play a lot because I have a character on my friend's account.

My professions are:
Tailoring 115
Skinning 50ish
Cooking 10
First Aid 6

I was wanting to know what was a good way to make money.

Right now I am simply skinning hides, and mailing the scraped leather to my friend who is in leatherworking, he then transmutes them into light leather. I sell that @ the AH.

What are some good ways to make money with tailoring and skinning?

I usually buy some Wool and Linen Cloths to make the tailoring stuff. I don't usually find good drops. I believe I am in Loch Madon btw.

Any help appreciated.

Honestly ya got it figued out, at 11½ your should not have a lot of money, the idea of selling leather at the AH is the way to go, eventrualy stuff will quit dropoing scraps and only leather, then money comes better. Stop buying wool and linnen at the AH, it is a money sink. You can get linnen off the kolbolds on the island in the middle of the loch, but at 11 you should probly stick to the ones on the west of the zone. Just keep going, you are supposed to be Poor, but it wont get better when you buy form the AH.

JeSuisBlanc,

You've got the right idea. Work that auction house. Try a double gathering career for quick income. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds like you're doing everything right but for making money... tailoring is not the way to go. Until you hit a very high level you won't be likely to sell anything for a profit. (Profit = sell price - cost of bought items - amount you could have sold the raw materials like cloth for)

If you really want cash, drop tailoring and take up mining. Selling leather and metals at AH should help cash flow.

Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it a lot.

Do you think, deemzzzz, it will be ok to continue with tailoring? I am not worried about the money a whole lot, but I wanted to have tailoring where I could make some bags and some of my armor. I like it as a profession.

I should be ok with skinning though, right?

I did tailoring with my mage and all I did was whatever materials I got i made into something and I had surplus I AH'd it. Me and my brother worked off each other so we sort of made a profit by pooling our stuff and selling it~~
Currently I'm doing mining and skinning with my druid and it's going out well for her.... I wonder if herbalism would be good too over mining... hmmmm *think*...
