Hello All,
I was wondering if there was any real point to cooking Deviate Fish or should I leave them raw? I don’t see any real point to cooking them if I am selling them on the AH. If there is I would like to know, thanks in advance for the help and replies.

Cooking it may produce different effects as opposed to raw. But not really sure.

Savory Deviate Delight has better side effects when compared to the raw fish.
But the raw fish itself can be used in at least one potion, and might be worth more because of that potential.

depends on your need for money versus increasing cooking skill.
at some point, you will have more money that another few gold won't matter. if that's the case, just cook it to raise your skill.
plus with cooking, some foods only take 20-40 of it before you can move on to some other recipe even if the old recipe keeps giving you skill-ups. so it's not like you'll be cooking it for 50-100 points worth of cooking.

On Lightning's Blade I have never saw the raw fish on the auction house and I don't think people will buy it. They will buy the cooked fish for over a gold for a stack of 5. I personally don't know the difference between the cooked and raw effects but I would assume the cooked effects are better.

the difference between the raw & cooked is that the cooked has * slightly * better chances of getting the illusion effects. On Llane server, ive been checking the gagetzan ah constantly but , no one is ever selling deviate fish.. guess i'll have to take up cooking and go get them myself. I wanted to use them in the giant growth potions.... but *sigh* no one ever sells them.
Currently, at gagetzan AH , 5 savory deviate delights are going for 3.5g , pretty outrageous since on Mal'Ganis server you could buy / sell 10 for 1g. Oh well.

I cook mine. In the Horde AH on Dalaran server they sell much better cooked. I can sell a stack of 5 cooked for 1g 80s. I have heard that with the cooked, your chances of getting positive effects are better. The recipe also seems to be a lower percentage drop(randomly dropped in The Barrens). That being said... anyone can fish for deviates, but only the few with the recipe can cook it.

Cook it!!! I see both raw and cooked in the AH and cooked sells a lot more and is worth more, just for the fact that you can turn into a pirate or ninja by consuming them
