arcane crystal what am i doing wrongFollow

I feel i am missing somthing
I read that arcane crystal drops at rich thorium mines and i have mined alot of them

never found 1
i go to the auction house and i see Zizi has 6 for sale

do i need to smelt dark iron before the game will allow mw to find the crystal or what

an ideas or answers plz.

Yes they do seem to be rare drops,for instance i mined 226 ores and found 1 arcane crystal 2 azeroth diamonds (lucky?) and 1 blue saphire

hang in there it will drop just seems to take a while and sod's law you will get 3 in a short space of time =)

I've gotten 1 so far. No idea really as to how many rich thorium mines I've hit. But it's quite a few. When I went to sell it there were like 20 for sale in the AH. One dude had 8 of them. I thought I would get some decent gold for it, heh.

I had your luck also from 275 to 300 off RT nodes nada, then for 2 weeks after I got to 300 nada. I would farm around 2 to 3 nodes a day durning the weekdays and tended to mine 5 to 6 on weekends. Then early one Sat on the 3rd weekend since i had gotten to 300, I got up at 6am, since i could not sleep and logged in to wow. First node, first strike, I hit got a crystal. boy was I pumped. About an hour later I trot thru that area again. There is a node in that area again. mine. Boom 2nd crystal. found 2 more nodes that afternoon they had nothing but ore and some dense stone. But the one I found after that gave my my 3rd crystal of the day. Been about 2 weeks and I have not found another crystal since.

I assume some of them buy up all the cheap crystals on the ah and resell them for a lot more. I think I saw this once on the medivh server when they jumped from 21g a piece to 33g a piece in one week. I know that when the epic class mounts first came out they were going for 35-40g a piece but that was a while ago and it seemed to settle down at 21g.

Hey, I can tell you this: I don't know if they have changed it with a patch, but I get loads of Arcane crystals. So far I have farmed for them 3 times, and in total I have gotten around 20-25 arcanes. Each time I farm, I do it for roughly 2-2.5 hours, and each time I get at least 4-5 of them, plus I get some Azerothian and other crap precious stones. A tip is to try to note where the rich mines spawn, and just make a good, quick travelpath between those possible spawns (use the uimod Gatherer, can't live without it). As I have found a real good path in a very nice thorium filled map, I usually find 2-3 rich mines every 5-10 minutes, which makes roughly 18-25 rich mines at least per hour.

Funny fact: Last time I farmed Rich Mines I had the most incredible luck. First mine I farm yielded 2 Arcanes, in the same mine!! I was like WTF!!! I reported it in guildchat, and ppl were stunned to hear it...then.... I went to the next mine..and got 2 more!!!!! 4 arcanes in 2 consecutive mines
!!! I couldn't believe it.... 4 arcanes in 5 minutes =D

Then it took me another 15 min to get a fifth arcane. I farmed for another hour or so, but didn't get any more, but I was still happy as u can imagine =))))

I had never met anyone who got 2 in one mine before, but I had heard of it..as a rumour..well.. now I am the living proof =)))

i found 2 ever
i have found 2 huge emeralds too :/ and some other gem
they are in small thorium veins too i got one in wintersring from a small vein (with a large emerald lol)
