Fishing areasFollow

My current fishing is at 141 and I'm looking for places where I can lvl this fairly quickly until 300. Anyone know which areas I should be fishing at?

is there a list around which area is good for what skill?

Like that:

Skill : Area(s) to fish : Increase till skill
x : yyyyyyyyyy : z

Doesn't seem to matter where you fish, you skill up at the same rate... What you catch, however, is a different story.

My favorite place to fish is in Tanaris on the SE corner of the map - There's some things you have to avoid while going down there (there's an elite giant and I think the turtles are about lvl 45 or so and they do aggro I believe) but once you get there the fishing is GREAT. I was down at Booty Bay until about level 135. Strap on some fishing enhancements and take them with you and head over to Tanaris. I think until you get to about 175 you will need the enhancements.

The #1 reason I love to fish here is the stonescale eels come up pretty often. They're used in stonescale oil which is used for stonescale potions. The potions add on significant armor for a period of 1-2 hours and are great for tanks going to instances.

In other words, the eels you fetch from here are worth LOTS OF DOUGH.

(This is also about the only place in the entire game where I actually have made significant money fishing. A stack of those eels is easily worth 2 gold at least)

The best fishing pole (Big Iron Pole) is a random drop out of the cages in the ocean by Shadowprey Village in Desolace (the same cages where the fish come from that you turn in for a quest)

It's a very random drop, but if you get one I have sold them for as much as 10 gold on the AH
