are you horde or alliance okiijin? For alliance, go to darnassus for expert, and feathermoon (in feralas) for artisan. Don't know about horde, sorry.

The best place I have found to gather Stranglekelp on the Horde side is Lordamere Lake which is located just south of the Undercity. This is easiest for Druids because they get a Sea Lion form for the underwater gathering, but any race/class can do it. Just make sure to stay in the water away from the small islands, as the level 17-19 mobs will gang up on you. NOTE: Liferoot can also be found around the outside shoreline.

Thanks,

Most of the recipes you need for high level alchemy are only found in instances or random drops.

I have most of the instance based recipes but getting the drops comes down to how many friends you have that send you recpies. And this in turn, comes down to how many friends you have that YOU send recipes/items to.

So to get stuff, go ahead and make sure you are the #1 alchemist that your friends/guild choose to send stuff to.

On my main I have everything to 300 and consequently finding it hard to enjoy playing... I play it for instance runs of course but I find I need to get exp to make it fun lol.

Cheers

Both herbs needed for this potion can be found in good quantity in Un'goro Crater.

Mountain Silversage will be up on the hills, so just run the zone perimeter watching for both herbs on the map.

My Alchemy skill is around 120 but all my recipes are greyed out so I can't level it up anymore. Where can I find more recipes besides the AH where I can never find any?

I'm level 25 on Alliance side...

yup that's where I go. However I often find with more and more alc's coming to maturity the herbs to make these health pots are getting rather stupid to harvest. On average now I waste an hour and a half running around the crater on my epic mount to be able to create 5 potions. It's faster, and more benneficial to just kill orcs near BRM for health pots.

Making money with ALC is almost non existant in comparison to time spent on other forms of farming.

Lets see, the Alchemy trainers in Ironforge, and the Alchemy Trainers in Darnassus will have recipes for you.

When trying to make money in Alchemy you must know what to invest time in making mass quantities. Health and Mana potions are probably the bottom line for alchemist, but the real money can be made with the transmutes. Alchemist are the only source of Arcanite in the game and they can almost always transmute things for you when you cant find it anywhere else.

Higher level alchemist start to aquire Flask recipes which sell for 10-20g each and require large sums of materials to make a single potion. I have Alchemy at 300 and Herbalism at 315, but I didnt start making any good money until the Greater tier of elixirs became available. Then the Superior and Major lines of alchemy start to make you some nice gold if you take the time to farm numerous stacks of the ingrediants needed to make them. Sungrass, Mountain Silvesage, Golden Samsen, and Plaguebloom are some of the most used herbs in the higher levels of alchemy.

Alchemy in no way will bring in the kind of gold that trades like skinning and minning because of the sheer investment cost of flask and other non-alchemy related items you need to raise your skill, let alone produce a good enough quantity to sell.

I've seen this question in several places, so here is an answer!

I started catching Firefin Snappers much more often once I got about 140 fishing, but using the fishing pole that is +5 to fishing and using the Bright Baubles bait (+75 fishing,) so a total of 80+ to fishing, roughly a skill of 220.
I was fishing in Southshore and about 4/10 catches were Firefin. Oily Blackmouth was pretty common at this skill too.

I just hit Alchemy 198 but since about 170 I haven't been able to train any new recipes. According to the strategy guid I should have been able to train a few. I have checked with trainers in Unercity, Hillsbraid, Thunder Bluff, and Ogrimmar with no luck. Am I crazy or am I missing something?

making mana and health potions in the end game is pointless.

people can buy them for 36s each from the argent dawn vendors.

i have 300 alchemy and i never make health or mana potions becuase its cheaper to buy them at 36s than it is to spend the time to get the ingredients.

mostly what i use alchemy for now is transmutes and making greater fire protection potions which are good for raids or if i want to laugh at a mage.

i have the recipe for flask of the titans, and im collecting ingredients for it(enough for 4 now), but 10 stonescale eels and 30 gromsblood is a lot to collect for a buff you can lose by dieing.

i have recipe for greater arcane protection potion, but havent bothered to make any yet

Try Swamp of Sorrows Bellatrix that is where the Artisan Alchemy trainer is for Horde. You should be able to get recipes from him, and you have to pay 5g to get Artisan dont have to do a quest just pay him the money.

Finding recipes seems to be the most difficult part for me, while I realize that everyone says ah, I've yet to see exlixir of minor agility, rage potion, swftness potion, elixir of giant growth, holy protect potion or cowardly flight potion. While these may be useless endgame, I'd still like to get the recipes and would like to know if anyone knows of anything that drops any of them.
