i bought 12 Fel Armaments the other day for 49g. I also used to buy/sell a lot of the 19 twink item stuff for great profit. I kinda did things backwards, I used a low level AH toon to fund my main instead of vice versa. I also had a toon parked by Wailing Caverns who was a leatherworker who probably made and sold 100+ Deviate Scale Belts for 20g each.

I think people have too much gold at the moment...

I don't really play the AH but I have a bank alt to do all my buying and selling. Recently I found a spawned recipe on a vendor for 40s ish? Auctioneer said it was worth 10g, so i thought i would try my luck and put it up for 35g buyout. Sold within the hour.

Best one a few days ago, just before my morning coffee i was looking for recipes to fill in the gaps in my professions. I couldn't beleive my eyes when i saw a Recipe for Major mageblood elixir up for 110g. This normally goes up for 1000g+ on my server so i guess the seller missed a 0 off. Didn't resell, bought to use as i had been looking for this recipe for over a year but wasn't going to shell out 1000g for it :P

I often clear out my banks and underprice stuff for a quick sale, though not by that much! ;)

I bought 10 primal nether for 80g the other day. Since they go for about ~140g apiece, that made me damned happy. Feel sorry for the guy, though.

For me it is the trade Power levellers i love ,, to post something at 25% or less than it is worth disenchanted is pure madness and i buy them on a regular basis and not just low level gear either i get level 50+ stuff at very low bid prices and make around 5g each item i disenchant.

By just bidding to disenchant i can make easily 1000g a week on a level 38 alt. but what i do using auctioneer is see if it says to sell or disenchant then i try and sell first as long as there are none being sold lower priced , so i guess i make a little less profit but any that do not sell i then disenchant .

The best times i find to bottom scan are first thing in the morning before people go to school/work or just after they get home from school/work as thats when people empty their bags .

Just scored another deal today. 20 Primal Life for 13g. I'm expecting an in-game mail the next time I log on with some poor bloke telling me he listed them for the wrong price. If he does contact me, I'll probably be nice and give him his stuff back. Depends on my mood though. :)

Wow 140g a piece? On my server everything is WAY overpriced but Primal Nethers have been going for 40g-45g each lately.

Edited for quote

We're low-pop and we suck at heroics, though we're real good at dailies, it seems. We also have a bunch of people who fancy themselves upper-level raiders and want to buy nethers for some nifty BoP crafted gear and whatnot, but inevitably fail and roll a new class for which they also need nethers.

A friend of mine and myself started new characters on a different server just for fun. Had to start from level 1 with no money and no bags. We raced to 70 and worked the AH every day for 1 hour after playing.

No jokes here this really happened. We bought an epic sword for 1g buyout and resold it for 800g. Needless to say we had everything we needed from lvl 24 to 70.

That was a good day in the AH!!!

Other then that just a few gold profit here and there nothing huge.

Last Christmas stacks of copper bars were going for 5g per stack. Going price before was about 75s. Not sure if everyone had started a new toon or there was just an influx of noobs, but I raked in the gold. Must have sold 20-30 stacks at 5g. The price stayed high for almost a week before it dropped down to about 1-2g per stack.

Someone said why don't you just AH it man? I immediately whispered him asking how much did he want, he replied "50g?", I said DEAL. Ty you sir!

I got the Robes of Insight for 6 gold a month or two ago. I wonder what that person really wanted to type in the price field. Didn't get a whisper or mail either.

Dazzling Longsword for 8g. bought it, relisted it for 500g. it was sold in minutes and the buyer put it back up for 850g. I think that seller is still trying to sell it at that price since it was still up a month later.

492g in 5 minutes is hard to beat.

I don't generally just troll the auction house trying to make extra money, but when the opportunity obviously presents itself, I take advantage.

Last night i got a Sky Saffire while mining, so I decide i am going to put it on the AH and sell it. There are any number of Sky Saffires going for 29g each on up, but the first one on the list is going for 10g.

I promptly snapped up the one going for 10g and posted a stack of 2 for 50g. About 10 minutes after that, my stack of 2 sold.

I assume the person that posted their gem for 10g was happy... they got a quick sale at the price they wanted. I was even happier... I got a quick sale at more than double their price.

Same for me actually, the only places I've seen things like this so far is the Neutral AH. I love when people whisper you asking for their stuff back. I'm not generally a nasty person, I almost always return the items I grab on the Neutral AH (sometimes I don't even try to get payment for said item).

On the other hand, I love laughing at people who whisper me or send me letters threating to report me. What are they going to tell the GM?

"Dear GM,

Today I broke the rules and tried to transfer between the Horde and Alliance side. Some meanie actually purchased items that I put on the Auction House and wouldn't give them back when I called them a #*%&tard. Please help."

Where does it say in the ToS that you cant transfer between factions? Most of the time when someone brings this up the resonse has been on the oboards that if someone wants to use two accounts or has a friend then they can do it.

But it's not all good. My plan to corner the market in copper ore/bars by buying all that was available and jacking up the price taught me the definition of Epic Fail.

I tried this back in the day for copper also. The thing is, you can be profitable on copper, as long as people stopped thinking about it and you're pretty much the main supplier. But once you start buying their auctions, to repost on your auctions, you create an artificial demand, and you're suddenly stuck with a lot of copper from them and your own supply, as they flood the market with their supply also.

So you can try another item but copper is quite common, so it usually experiences this kind of up and down.

In the first few weeks of wotlk, a caught tell in trade advertising frostweave bags for 60g. This, when they were listing on AH for 100-150g and constantly sold out. I quickly whispered him and he asked me to meet him in the AH in Org. I told him I'd buy as many as he had/could make. He told me he had 10 and if I bought them all he'd sell them for 300g total.

I bought 10 bags for 300g, relisted 2 on AH that sold for 150 each. and came away with 8 free 20 slot bags within the first couple weeks of the x-pac.

The thing that kills me most is we made the transaction in the AH. Had he taken 10 seconds to check the AH beforehand, he could have made an additional 1-1.2kg
