LS drama is exciting when made public like this.

You know, it is bad to call out the person for shouting things in Jeuno/Whitegate when you are doing the same over a forum. My advise, as a leader, would of been to just keep all of this private and shared your feelings with people who know/care about you in game if you must. What you did by speaking about Aryun by name is perhaps worse because you put us, people who most likely do not know either one of you, as the judges of him/her.

You as a LS leader should not go down to that level of tactic because you, in particular, represent your LS. Now when I see someone from your LS, I will be reminded of this incident. Good luck to you in the future, but you should give those the same courtesy that you expect from them.

heh,

Although I don't outright disagree with everything he said.. Of all the people I would suggest taking leadership advice from, Gauln is not one of them. I don't like his leadership style and I do have a personal grudge, so take that as you will.

Dem apparently wanted to post in a forum where the matter could be discussed with others, and get different views from people outside of his/her social circle. That's one of the reasons this forum exists after all. I didn't read it as an attempt to flame or a thread created to invoke/publicize drama (as you apparently have).

Not taking leadership advise from me is fine. Although I have no clue who you are so your "grudge" against me is not important. I do believe that my advise has merit when it comes to being a LS leader as I have been a leader for many years in multiple games. You are correct, forums are for discussion and getting ideas, but there are ways to go about it to not try and create drama.

He/she could have said "there is a person who was formerly in my linkshell" or something to keep the person from being turned into a villian as they are not here to defend their reputation. There are three sides to every story, and hearing just one from someone who does not care they are doing the exact same thing they are complaining of another doing does not hold much water in the bucket of being a leader or a person for that matter.

You're right, my grudge is not important. At least not here.

Claiming you have been a leader for many years and in multiple games doesn't automatically give you merit. Being a "leader" is more than just a title or a position held. While you can claim you are a leader, how many would say you were a good one? How many of the people that were "under" you would consider you a leader at all?

So if the name had been left out, you wouldn't have a problem with the post? I only saw mention of the person being kicked and then spreading lies. Where else would you suggest that be addressed? By more shouts? Again, I didn't see it as an outright attack. That person has access to these forums and every right to come and tell his/her side of the story. Honestly, I think you're making this something bigger than it is.

I did not want to go off topic and have to defend myself in this thread. Especially from someone who I have no memory of and obviously of no importance. But since this is a forum and you are guilty of claims until proven otherwise, you could ask all of the knights who quit their other LS and rejoined mine when I returned to the game a couple of months ago and the numerous tells I get from people who are in very established end-game linkshells who tell me that I inspired them to be like me.

You, of course, are a board warrior and your claims of having any knowledge in this subject is purely speculation. As if you were a great leader in the game I would of heard of you. By your admission you bear some grudge against me, probably not recent since I have no clue who you are. So for 3 years you have cried yourself to sleep wondering if some day that you would have a chance to strike back. And to answer your second question, yes, had the person had not been mentioned by name in the thread it would have been a perfectly acceptable post. Because there would be no doubt that it was an attack on someone or not, had there been no name, it would of been a cry for advise and sympathy.

Trust me I have been there myself. I would spend hours everyday when I logged on listening to peoples concerns and trying to make everyone happy. It is impossible to make everyone happy. I also worked my *** off and put hours into what I did only to be criticzed left and right, but you need to remember that you did it to try to make this game better for others and those who criticze you will most likely to it to someone else until they finally lose crediblity.

Every LS will have drama. It's a fact. There will always be people who dislike each other, it's human nature. There are many people who I dislike greatly, but I deal and work with them because I like being a team player and seeing my LS do big thing, get the nice gear, and have a good time in general. We all have feelings and emotions, and these toons on this game represent real people, so it's only "just a game" if all you do is xp/do missions and quests/craft/etc. Linkshells are a dynamic community with many different types of people, which can be a great or bad thing, it just depends on how you make it.
