I need help getting the Leaping Boots from this BCNM. I fought this twice with my LS and we wiped both times. Consequently, my LS refuses to go up against the Petrifying Pair again. I have plenty of seals to do this several times. Please, let me know if you can help. -- Malidar

I have two 30+ jobs... monk and dragoon.

I can tell you from experience that this bcnm can be a pain in the ***** Some friends and I have been doing this one for a couple of days now and we are 5/9 on attempts. Haven't got any good drops from it, but oh well.

Our party goes as Whm/blm<me>, Nin/whm, thf/war. When we start, I buff my group up and go bind the white/grey lizard(also have to have stoneskin and blink up to help). The other two focus on attacking the other while I kite and bind the white lizard. I found that recasting blink after landing the bind helps me get the next bind off after the lizard start charging. I try not to cast any cure spells (if at all avoidable)on the other because of hate reasons.

The Nin/whm has MP/HP drinks (Thf also has a HP drink also) goin so he can throw some cures to keep hate on himself. The thf does the usual thf thing SA+WS, bloody bolts, Acid bolts, and so on. The thf and nin have to try to avoid baleful gaze because it will totally ruin the run if not careful. Also in the event that bind does not land, i run over toward the two and have the thf provoke and nin cure if i take too much damage. While they have its attention I get a bind off and recast blink and they move away as to not get hit.

Once you defeat the brown lizard, it is pretty much smooth sailing except for the occasional baleful gaze on the tank.

That is our stratedgy for the last few successfull runs. It seems to work really well except for the bad luck that usually follow me >.>

I hope this helps you out some. Good Luck

Update: Lastnight we went 3/3 on petrifying pair. The only thing new was the thief used a sword instead of dagger for more damage on ws and SA.
