Most mobs linked and survived without zoningFollow

#1 Jan 20 2006 at 2:30 PM Rating: Decent
Yes I'm bored and thought I'd get a different thread going.

Last night our static who consisted of Shanisasha, Mrfrodo, Skibum, Breg and I were fighting our way to fame and fortune in the lovely area known as West altepa.

Our camp was the spire where all the beetles hang out and things were going as well as any good party would expect when all of a sudden we get 4 additional beetles on top of our regular pull.

Lets just say both me(blm) and our bard got to practice our sleeping skills. Numberous times many of us would end up in the red because more then one beetle would wake up and get some hits in before someone could sleep it.

Couple minutes later with a few 2 hours from our melees & Mages we finish with a chain 4 with everyone alive and well.

You know a party works well together when they can handle something like this :)

So what I want to hear is some of your stories, what have you managed to link together and survived to tell about it.

Five of us (myself, Shimmer, Dionisio, Kirill, and Revenant) were farming coffer keys for Dionisio's paladin AF down by the Serket spawn. I was pulling mobs back to camp, but Kirill got antsy went to pull from the opposite end. In the mean time, Dionisio lost connection at the far end of the zone.

I make it back to camp with 3 weapons with the intent of soloing one, having the group take one, and sleeping the other.

Kirill makes it back with 2 beetles.

Dionisio logged back on, only to find himself being aggro'd by a beetle. So what does he do? He runs for camp...collecting all the beetles and bats on the way.

From there, it was a combination of sleeping, hate-trading, skillchaining, draining, and doing whatever we could to survive. No one died, but we did get close. After all that, we still didn't get a coffer key. On the bright side, we did prove that we could kill all the monsters in Garlaige Citadel...at the same time :/

Dynamis Sandy

pulled the mobs up on the steps past west ron zone.. first time pulling from there.. so i tryed to get one statue... ended up i got all 6-7 statues and around 16-20+ mobs.. i don't remeber how many it was exactly... everyone worked their asses off and following miriel around from mob to mob to kill .. sleepers kept up on sleeping and we jept on killing

i was quite surprised and happy to see us all working as team .

in my old static with Miriel alivas Whitedevil chaptsic and i with a pick up whm i would pull links on purpose to make us work together.. and to try to kill white .. only time we would ever fall was when a gobbie would suicide from full or near full health..

one time we had a taru whm on a chocobo passing our camp when this happened.. poor lil ******* got blown off his chocobo ... i
fell outta my chair almost cause i was laughing so hard

i trained about 55 mobs in valkurm once as my 70 blm.

they kept giving me spell interutions. and getting hit for 2-6 damage from 55 mobs kinda adds up.

in the end i had to manafont and nuke to live >.>

fun!

hmmm....the most in a party situation, i can't remember the exact number, but it was a TON. If I remember correctly Skibum was in this particular party as well. BST tree party, back in the "pre-poof" days. There were two BST parties there, all using mandies. At one point, there were at least 12 mandies aggroed thanks to a mischarm and links, a couple of rabbits thanks to a misharm, along with a steelsheel and 3 goobbues all being aggroed. Between running around, pet tanking, Leave and Charm swapping, we pulled it off and even managed an EXP chain.

The most in a alliance....Castle Oztojo, I did a really stupid thing and managed to link a TON of yags (by stupid meaning I thought I was using the poof patch to my benefit, did not work so well). I died but the rest of the group pulled it out. I'll get a link to the screenies, nuke has seen him and can attest there were a ton of bird men around...

The biggest link I've seen -without- everyone having to zone also involved Oztroja. I was going down by the LB3 ??? to farm yags, and found an alliance there killing the Yag god. They ended up having to escape after it 2hrd, but one person wasn't escaped and the rest zoned back in before the last person died. Through some miracle of hate-coding, it then took off for the zone to chase down the people that had zoned back in after escaping. I think it ended up getting trained to the zone at least 5 or 6 times before some people from my LS finally showed up and took it down.

As far as zoning out and back in too early, Ski and I had this happen once even using /pol to temp log. >< Apparently one of us came back in before the other was logged out, bats came and found both of us after we got back in-game and killed us. ><

I remember the first time they fixed that. Was in a duo in Tree and we ended up with a bad link of Goobbue's. Both of us send pets in and log out.

I of course logged back in right away thinking that its the same where logging out = instant hate reset. I reaggro'd the original one that had tried to get me but that was understandable, I logged back in right on top of it. I sent a pet after it thinking I can handle 1 goobbue.

Next thing I know this other one comes out of no where and beats me to the ground.

Learned from then on if I really want to reset hate to stay out for a couple minutes.

Lokkii: You're one of the few guys I know that seems to find the most interesting ways of dying.

Simply said, if you ever survived a big pull in Dynamis, well, you got one of the highest ones. XD

Dynamis FTW!

Me and a ls pal were trying to camp Mee Deggi the Punisher fro some gil and then i got bored and he had to go.. so i though, what if i was on the upper platform and diaed a birdy that was below me? HMmmmmmmm. I did it, 3 minutes later 8 birds are coming down the platform, i tihnk. meh could be bigger, then all of the sudden i have over 30 freaking yagudos on me since apparently that yagudo brought half the zone with it x.x. I had to 2hr and warp to save my butt.
