to escape the "friends only" thing... honestly i dont know how good of friends you guys are or how well you know eachother but what always got me was when a guy is genuinely interested in ME (not my looks, or other.... assets) but my mind. I LOVE dating friends.... they make the best relationships. I will say that line when i feel i need to get to know someone better BEFORE i date them. Doesnt ALWAYS exclude interest... Honestly, take her out (on friends only dates), show her a good time, make her feel important to you...
im sure thats something you do already but from a girls POV this is what would get me to reconsider a guy friend and make him boyfriend material.
