Recently today, the infamous corporation known as SquareEnix denied thousands of nerds their ability to live out their lives. With the inability to log into POL, many are left helpless. Asking each other, what exactly is that yellow orb in the sky, and why does it burn so?
We took to the streets today to ask one gamer, he replied, "SQUARE ENIX ARE A BUNCH OF ????TARDS OMG I HATE THEM SO MUCH."

Geez the burning yellow thing is a glitch in the 3D image of Bastok, although I am trubled by the lack of apperence of any race other than hume, my own character seems to ahve been turned into a hume and I can't seem to do any sort of search function or bring up a menu. Furthermore the texture map of Bastok seems to have undergone a radical alteration and is much more green. In addition I am stuck in first person view rather than the third person view which I prefer. Furthermore when I shout if anyone wants to do a Garrison everyone looks at me funny. Maybe those hackers did this, hopefully SE will fix it soon.
edit: It appears that emote's still work although some sort of force-feedback mechanism has been added. I base this on the fact that I still occasionally get slapped when I examine someone to see what armor they are wearing.

I can't log in. It is now been 3 hours since I first tried and I still can't log in.
from what I've read, it seems to be an update problem (no one was having this issue until update was installed)

I too have found that FFXI is somehow different. Whenever I attack a dog walking on the strange greeen dirt for exp I get smacked by a hume BST claiming the dog was their pet. I can only assume beastmasters now have the ability to charm undead.
Furthermore after kiling several of these undead pets I got zerged by a group of 6 gun rangers wearing dark blue armor with white engravings spelling "Police". The rangers were riding on chocobos that were black and had 2 round thingys that they used to move on instead of legs. Somehow I ended up in jail, so I can only speculate the gun rangers called a GM when I killed two of their party members with my Great Katana. They had surprisingly low HP and defence, which leads me to believe their armor is mostly for offense rather than defence, as most rangers usually have anyways. Apparently Ballista has new rules that you cannot kill gun rangers or you get sent to jail. I will make note of this the next time I go PvP ing.
Anyways I will examine this strange occurence further when I get released. I don't anticipate it will be very long. See you all soon.

Haven't really seen any of the new rangers nor any of the new mobs, but I bring news on the fishing front. So I thought yeah...I'd fish and get some stacks of moat carp and see what I can get. I swear, not one blurdy moat carp at all. Instead I got 12 dead birds, a live squirrel I somehow saved, and a dead cat. Tried turning my findings into the auctionhouse down the street...but the damn NPC hit me with a shovel and kicked me out of the AH.

In other news... I leave my character overnight for bazaar and what have you. A couple of people sent me messages. The first message I tried to reply to didn't go through. It said japanese text in red on my screen and then [5].??? So I tried again and this time it was in English saying something like my message wasn't sent and [5] again.
I don't know about you guys, but these 'hackers' seriously have got to go. I mean, at least ***** up something good in the game besides the ability of people not being able to log onto it. Cause I don't think the hackers are trying to make SE lose money or something, as if we're gonna quit cause of this. Dear hackers, do something big that can only be known if you are actually playing the game. Like make Leaping Lizard drop Scorpion Harness +1 or something interesting and fun like that.

You must mean the light that inhabits the great sky of vanadiel, but as for the burning... perhaps you should get out of valkuurm more often if it burns you so....

I ws so distraught I must have blacked out. One minute I'm trying to log into POL, next thing I know I am in this large field with hundreds of stones that had writing on them. All I remember was shouting "Raise needed at <pos>!!" but the <pos> wasn't working right, and no whm could fine me. I couldn't get my search menu up to look for any either, so I gave up, bowed curteously to the headstone, and warped to my home point.
DDoS isn't hacking. The servers have never been truly "hacked", and i doubt they ever will. What kind of loser would waste their time ruining FFXI?
hmmmm somehow the spelling critique makes the title of this thread all the more true.
