I think im tossing in the towel.
sick of sitting around with my "pt *****" bard 62 during jp prime and not getting ANY single invites in the last 3 weeks. even harder to stick around when me and my 2 brothers all have our own accounts on WoW and can play and have fun with that (they didnt get into ffxi).
I am not gonna cancel my char nor dump my gear, in fact im probably going to lend my char to my LS (Babylon) and it will probaby be played by a few individuals : Rabbai, Malystryx, Cueball, Janessa, Krugerwill. they can have fun with it, and since most of my gear is rare/ex im sure i wont worry about coming back to a stripped char (maly is a thf by choice, in game and IRL ) ;D jk jk

Hmmm. This is someone who quit for not getting party invites. Maybe statics are really a good idea after all. I wonder if there could be a slot setup where you could put your name in and get registered for a party on a certain schedule, ahead of time, without having to promise to continuously party every certain day of the week, week after week.

Good idea? I guess we would need to have a lot of people reading the forums for that to work. Then, the more it worked, the more people would log on ready to party-- and no strings.

Hohito, what are you talking about?
Anyway, I'm thinking of quitting too. I got to lvl 71 with RNG and thats cool. I guess the game is so repetitive to me that I'm bored with it. I'd like to play a real RPG that ends I guess, lol. It was fun while it lasted though.

Tip for all the NA players, who do or must play during JP prime time.

MAKE YOUR OWN PARTIES !!!!!

I have noticed, that almost all the times i have been playing in JP prime time, that more then enough members for 1-3 full parties, will sit around LFG and never start a party. Me being the motivated person that i am, i almost never have trouble making a party during JP prime time, since there are plenty of members. Sometimes, they refuse because i dont speak japanese, but most of the time, things go well.

I recommend to anyone that is about to quit to start a new job. Believe me it becomes fun all over again. It's like raising children when you party in Crawler's Nest and show new people where the secret room is or when you take party across the Altepa Desert to where a remote camp is for hunting gobs which is near the zone and oasis. Or even when you hike it through the Korroloka Tunnel, party in tow, to get a party members' Altepa crystal. I don't think I could ever quit the game but there are plenty of times that things get frustrating in the game.

Not getting party invites makes it tough to enjoy the game; getting too many invites, would make it kind of boring I guess also.

Barchiel, if you want to try a role-playing game that ends and is really a lot of fun I would play Demonstone. I finished it. It plays really well and doesn't last so so long that you would leave this game for that one. I find that after a break I really enjoy getting back into making money and then partying all over again! Right now I am farming and questing so that I can afford the Life Belt.

If I were to start a different RPG, like Battlefront for example, I think I would do the same thing I am doing here but just somewhere else, and I would lose the work I have done here, and that would just be waste.

ps. then I may level WAR to 50 and start to level THF as a viable sub for WAR.

Why do goodbye threads have to state everything wrong with FFXI. These MMO's are just like any other game, they get boring after a while. WoW or no WoW, these games get boring. Everyone will eventually quit, because it's a game, and you can only do so much.
