Bad experience with a high lvl (Raye)(semi-rant)Follow

I was searching for a party today, for a little bit at least. When I got an invite from a person named Raye. He/She put the party together, and wanted to goto quicksand caves. Well a member of our pt didn't have the gate crystal and Raye started in telling them they were going to have to leave because that is where HE wanted to go and such. I didn't say anything because well I wanted some exp. Then, the same member that didn't have the crystal was a Sam/Rng...this didn't suit Raye as a sam should ALWAYS have a war sub. I said well...maybe they like sam/rng, and I had already pt'ed with a few sam/rngs so I vouched for him. I was told I was wrong because the combo is only useable once sidewinder is available and only then may it be used. Because for THIS pt we needed a setup for SATA. So, not understanding why this leader even invited the sam/rng I was starting to consider leaving...when Raye throws out "Eh, but what do I know" so...a little peeved I said "obviously everything lol". Well Raye responds "Yah I didn't learn much after playing through 75 levels, and I guess rank 10 doesn't say a lot". At this time I said You don't need to brag this is just a game, when I get kicked from pt. Raye sends me a tell and said "you need to learn when to shut your mouth".

WTF is that?! I have all the respect in the world for end-gamers but in my past experiences they are always very nice, and helpful. Not rude and arrogant like Raye. They have never tried to boss any pt's i've been in around, and they always try to be helpful to us. I know as a level 45pld I have a lot to learn, but to me this just gives high lvls a bad name. I really hope when/if I ever get that high I don't turn into a complete tool like that. Please, some Shiva end-gamers respond to this and restore the good name that you have always given yourselves.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Here lately I have had a long string of bad luck with parties. You know the ever classic at lvl 47:

"Hey your a Monk you can tank"
And get to the quicksand caves and get:
"Ok lets disband then, sorry to bring you all this way"

Needless to say I'm somewhat disgruntled on leveling right now.

Anyway Wrip, I have noticed that often people who have leveled a job to 75, or even leveling a job higher up and then going to a lower one in general, are not fully prepared to level a job at a lower level for a while. Many forget that what does not work at one level range does work at lower level ranges as well as forgeting which abilites a job does and does not have. This will probably get burned bad from the self-appointed knowers of all becouse I am level XX but playing one job can be very different from playing another and sometimes thier experience leveling to 75 means jack.

o.O wow, I wouldn't care if the guy was a rank 100 with a level 200000000 RNG. Anyone with that attitude shouldn't even consider being leader.

People are jack@sses and this Raye is no exception I'm sure. Nobody knows every aspect of this game, no matter how many lvl 75 jobs you got, or if you got rank10 with every nation.
Reminds me of a thf I partied with in Yhoater. Kirby would remember her. I was my war (I'm a taru) and I'm joking around, havning a fun and wacky time. She just explodes on me "I'm a 52rdm, so you better watch it" O.o;; I responded with "I got a 53mnk, I'd just pummel you". <(^.^)>

Like the phrase "Dangerous at any speed" it's "Noob at any level".

I agree. To me, levels mean nothing--or very little if any. It's all about their actual experience and their skill when playing whatever job as well as their attitude. She may not, but there are people out there that have bought their accounts, so that's another thing to chuck the "I'm level such and such" crap out the window. Players at the end game levels or even a few levels higher than me earn my respect and admiration when they help people, show their skill and the fact they're not asshats.

It's not about levels or rank. It's all about that mentor status. I mean, they just don't let ANY lvl 30 player with X number of hours of gameplay become a mentor. You gotta take some kind of god damned test!

How many of you have been in the Dunes with that one guy, and you're arguing over what job for your sixth? You both pull out your cards, "my level is...." and "my rank is..." but god forbid he pulls out his mentor status. Well damn, guess he was right all along! Don't mess with those mentors, they're like the Chosen or whatever.

Ahahaha... yeah, the mentor status. I signed up for it, but besides testing it out in my mog once I was accepted, I didn't flag it at all. I see valid times to use this, but definitely not for the "trump".

1. In my starter city if I have time to kill to help newbies get aquainted to my beautiful nation. Yes, I have pride in San d'Oria, it is true! I've yet to get time to kill though. :(

2. In La Theine Plateau to help people find Ordelle Caves or if someone needs help getting the holla crystal but are being pestered by those damned Orcs. Even to find the stone monument if they've all but given up. :P Of course, I haven't had time to do this, either. :(

3. In the Dunes to give advice on what mobs to kill when, where to make camp and how to do the Goblin Avoidance Dance. Even to help with support job items, also. No time either, personally. :(

4. Any other time that is sort of similar to the above.

I probably won't do any of these until I reach at least 50 with my main, though. Of course, I've done point 1 numerous times without the status so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not but you can obviously see there was more to it than that.

You told her not to brag, and "obviously everything"... fighting with a leader, (especially one who has obviously already lost patience for the day, for whatever reason) is asking to get you kicked from the pt. your lvl 45.. you know how PT's are at that level, shouldnt be surprised if someone isnt having a great day in that level range.

not that it really matters, but ive seen her take someone on 5 or more occasions through korroloka for the crystal, while the party was forming. its not unreasonable to skip that trip once in a while.... if she made a mistake, it was not asking if the sam had a war sj before hand, but not accepting a rng sj when u need sata voke isnt exactly a sin.

just seems silly to me, that u are surprised u got booted when u make smart *** comments to a leader that is already seemingly having a bad day.

She wasn't acting like she was in a bad mood. She was joking around and everything before the Sam was invited. I wouldn't have said anything if she wouldn't have acted like a complete tool. There is no need to treat people like **** just because you're a certain level and that's what she did. If you condone that then I guess i've just got another to add to my blist.

I've pted with you a few times Wrip, and you are generally a pretty laid back guy, from what I remember. Names Averie BTW (RDM). I remember you getting killed in our PT a few times, and never once complained about it. (No insult intended of corse!) But if this has got you that upset, then this person must have been pretty bad. I dont know the person personally, so Im not one to judge, but hey... for what it's worth, Sorry.

You need to get a grip. Do you like...camp the IGN and Allakhazam forums just to find any little piece of drama that you can dig your filthy nose into? You are pathetic and I feel sorry for you.

Wrip: Get over yourself. You will meet many people a lot worse than myself.

YES! I am an arrogant ***** and I have permanent PMS. Hate me, I get off on it.

Sidewinder(Which is true) and argue with her about that. She gets frustrated and tells you that she has a job at 75 and you reply caves because the other camps for that level are either very bad or filled with ppl.
After she told the SAM we were going to quicksand caves to camp and that we would have to find another f mine.
Sometimes its untill you get there is no reason to try and start drama/dirty a really good person'hard to level up with ppl who havent played as much as ating because you usually end up wasting your time.
Raye was having a bad daywith a smart *** answer -.- (No wonder she kicked you) What happened shouldn't even be on this board,Ok, i was acually in this ptyou haveand its frustr and i know raye very well, shes in my LS and a good friend othe party leader, ane she wanted to camp at quicksand and wanted to get the party going. She was member, she told him that SAM/RNG wasn't a good combo ups name its just childish and uncalled for...
I hope posters like this will grow up.

I actually could have believed Raye had a legitimate reason for acting how she did, until she posted on this topic. Sorry, but she doesn't seem to be any bit of reasonable, other than saying sam/rng wouldn't work with thf in the pt (Although it's a fine combo before Sidewinder because of the accuracy bonus of rng and sam is there to do a lot of sc's, not do all the damage)

I was in the same LS as Raye for a couple months too, and these actions sort of surprise me, as I know she wouldn't act that way within the LS. But she very much sounds like she thinks she's better than those around her, which is sad to see being flaunted like this.

I wasn't there, so I have no idea what really happened.

These are the things I do know.

1. The SAM/RNG didn't have the Altep Crystal.

2. They weren't willing to wait for him even before they found out he didn't have a WAR sub.

3. You didn't say anything about them leaving him behind because you wanted exp.

4. You did decide to say something once they said /RNG was a bad combo for SAM.

5. You got kicked.

Without getting into a discussion about who is right or wrong, maybe the SAM/RNG should consider leveling his WAR so he can be an SATA partner, provoke if tank loses hate, and also get more invites. Melees need to be versatile and have several subs to choose from depending on mob types, job level, and jobs held by other party members.

I think Raye knew this guy didn't fit the needs of the party, due to /RNG sub and the downtime that would result in waiting for him to make it to Quicksand Caves. It sounds like Raye was trying to drop him from the party, but you made things more difficult by disagreeing with her. You ended up getting kicked.

In the end, you know whether you or Raye handled it the right way, and maybe neither of you did.

However, I don't think we need posts like this on Allakhazam. They belong over on the VN Boards. ^^
