Pokiehl helped me out one time. I (as a 45 Paladin at the time) agreed to help someone out to the well for the Paladin job quest. Quickly did I find out that I was not, in fact, able in ANY capacity to protect the innocent level 30.
(I was helping a Red Mage *Sneak+Invis*, so I thought my chances were good).
Anyway, we were at the river, an almost straight shot west to where the well is, when a higher-levelled orc aggros before Sneak and Invis could be recast. The level 30 takes off down the river toward the well, and lo and behold, aggros every pugil on the way (and an Orcish Bowshooter !!) before I could do anything. (It is at this point that I remember my subjob is Thief for farming purposes, and that my provoke macro does indeed, not work.) I run along after him in the insane hope that somehow I can help, but he is way ahead of me. I tell him rough directions to get to the well in the case that he can survive the onslaught, but alas, he is slain.
Miraculously, the orcs that aggroed did not follow (?!), and the pugils weren't aggro to me, so I stick around with his corpse, and shout for an unlikely raise. I offer rewards too. "[Raise] [Magic] [please] <pos> [river] 1000 [money] [reward]" . after a few minutes "2000...", "5000", "7000". I got up to 10,000 gil (1/2 of my coinpurse), with absolutely no response. It was at this point that I was convinced everyone had shout turned off, or no one needed my piddly amount of gil.
All hope for this unfortunate was lost. I almost had him convinced to just return to homepoint and that I was sorry I failed him, when he asks if I saw something in the water.
Suddenly, I see a tarutaru, none other than Pokiehl (the white mage), drop his invis, and cast raise on the poor fellow. It turns out that he (and a high level Dark Knight with him) were doing this quest too! So we teamed up, and totally tore up all enemies in our path, and got 2 people the ability to become Paladin!
The best part is, afterwards, Pokiehl told me that he had shout turned off the whole time, so he raised this guy out of the goodness of his heart.
So, hats off to ye Pokiehl, you do, indeed, rock :D
