Well it would help to know why you are feeling this way. If the reason is just that you're getting bored with the game, then just take a few weeks off from playing and see how you feel then.
If it's because of the game interfering with real life affairs, then you'll need to make that choice yourself. Having your marks go down the drain or getting fired isn't worth gaining 3 levels.

Don't Go...I have enjoyed talking with you...I change jobs frequently. I play something else for a few days, craft, quest, or even do nothing but chat. I only get a couple of hours a day max. I work alot. If u see me, feel free to chat...I love to talk. Good luck and happy hunting :-)

I doubt there is a single player in this game that hasn't wanted to quit at some point in time. If you're feeling that way now perhaps you should think about what it was that intially caused you to start playing in the first place. Maybe you've just simply lost sight of that. If nothing else, take a break for a while and see if you miss playing.

I don't know you but I am sure you would be missed. I think I know what you are talking about but my only suggestion would be to do what others have said; take a break and do something else. Watch t.v., play a new game like 'Fable', catch up with world events, start a new hobby, whatever.

Heres the question you should be asking, Is this game worth the investment?

Now take another look at it, Has my real life suffered as a direct or indirect result of this game?

Yes and No are the answers you should be looking for, respectively. Just remember, even after you quit the ffxi world continues, and soon you will be forgotten too.

If you really need to ask if you're missed, you obviously aren't very popular with the community.

your having your mid game crisis. you hit the big 50 and are questioning the game and your place in it. as far as i can tell a lot of people drop out here. i was like "why do i do this..." then i said to myself "because i look so uber in AF w00t!!" On sunday i helped 9 people get there AF on different jobs and everything. was very busy. i could have been out lvling but i thought id give for a change. too many people take and never give back. i decided it was time to give. im gonna make 1 day per month completely for helping other people. so look out for me shouting if anyone needs help in december. =) Stay glit. itll feel good to get your AF and help other peeps later on. the mid-game crisis will pass!!

Glitter I dont know if Im your friend, but im glad I met you. Weve PTed quite a few times, and without you, who would Raise-2 me in Kuftal Tunnel anymore? Infact I learned a lesson from my death in Kuftal last night...STOP TARGETING THE LIZARDS!!!! So I made a macro:
"Lock On
Line 1: /lockon"

So now Im always locked onto our fight and dont mistarget after refreshing someone.

LMAO - Yeah try that game... it sucks so much, it's bound to make you appreciate FFXI, or any other game for that matter.

ah, well my only advice in that is this. If the people you hang out with are the problem; Then change the people you hang out with. If someone in your static is causing an issue then simply say "Fix it or I am done".

If your LS are being selfish and are making the game a choire to you, then find a new LS. The LS I am in is normally good about helping people, especially if the people asking for help are the ones who give help (in whatever way they can). It may take a couple days to get everyone on the same page but you will get your help. So I know that if my LS is this nice and exists; I am sure there are other LSs that are full of nice and helpful people too.

dont quit glitter.. it would suck so much if u quit so dont quit ^^ im going through the same thing but ima hang in there it will get better sooner or later. If you just cant stand the game atm just stop playing for a few days and u will be like Hell yea!! im gettin on FFXI!! believe me its the same way with socom2... u get pissed at how many times u get gunned down or fragged by ur dumbass team mates that u just need to take a break for a few hours or days. Then when u get back on your straight owning foos again ^^

Glitterngld! I saw you the first day I started playing, you and Generalramuh were doing a summon show! I remember you saving me a few times from Yagudo in my early days.. we never really talked but I still remember... It would be a disappointment to me if you quit. A lot of my friends have quit FFXI including Pikkon, Ashriel, Archiah, Guug, Synk, Gramm, and Sweetie.

Ooooh....don't leave!! I've only been playing this game for a few months...but it's the friends I've made and people I've met that help me through the tough spots and down times! Hang in there....it's a great game; great people in general. Stay and send me a tell and make a new friend if you're on the Shiva server!!!
