Ok, what happened here?!

Last night around 4AM EST (ok morning) I got up from bed and decided to make insect paste...I woke up to go to the bathroom and suddenly recalled that Corn region was in beastmen control, which means I can sell the insect paste at a higher rate than usual.

I turn my PC on, I turn my PS2 (mule account) on.
I log in, I log my mule in.
I send my mule in Bastok to go get me Earth Crystals, as they are usually cheaper there than in Windy, where I am. There's 26 Earth Crystals left. OK, so maybe I'd have to pay 500g instead of 300g today, no biggie. Windy's were going for 700g.
I open the Price History. SEVERAL stacks had sold for 1000g.
4 stacks after that were going from 550g - 800g. Oo; WTF?!

I bid 550g - declined.
I bid 600g - declined.
I bid 650g - declined.

Angrily, I just put up another batch of insect paste up for sale and just bought the 700g ones from Windy and proceeded to load up my mules with the paste and went back to bed.

Sorry hinageshii, learn economics. Supply and demand. Supply is low, demand is high. Earth Crystals are one of the top 3 most used crystal types (in my opinion, with Lightning and Fire up there) and lately in both Sandoria and Windurst there wasnt a total of 30 clusters/stacks at either AH. Fire Crystals were up to 2.6k in Windurst last night. Its getting awful.

as Sepukku said, supply and demand; get over it.

two weeks ago wind crystal stacks were selling for 2k and now 1500 is the high end for today. Tomorrow will probably be new as well. Things can go the way they are supposed to and not always go your way by default. 'gasp'

I wasn't complaining, boys.

Just surprised that Earth Crystals which always has been the most inexpensive had hit 1000g. Merely an observation, relax.

that is worthy of note... never seen them sold that high. Yet with the amount of people who 'complain' about the AH economy on how 'many' different threads; I am sure you can understand at least my misconception. ^^

Hrmm... When I started, about 2 months ago, Earth Crystal stacks went for 1000-1500. I was so happy because all the wild rabbits, forest hares, tunnel worms and carrion worms I used to level up on gave me this crystal. I sold, I think, 2 stacks. Later, when I finally got another stack, I checked AH... I saw something like this:

600
700
500
500
500

-_-;;

Then I said, "I suppose it's time to get fire crystals." I conned a few Orcs... {Run Away!}

As long as Water Crystals are still inexpensive... I'm happy. hehehe

I suspect people will start subbing RNG and farming elementals and then the price will go back down when the cluster/stack surplus occurs from the elementals being overfarmed.

seppuku, you ignorant ****. (apologies to dan ackroyd)

greed also plays a role in it.

yeah it's supply and demand but you cannot discount the base greed of another person

Wow hinageshii, I'm sorry, I didnt realize middle schools let the internet go unfiltered in schools these days, what a shame. I'm sorry but no person in-game or real life can honestly say they don't want the most dollars they can get without compensating morals, friendships, popularity, integrity, etc. Companies do it in real life, 98%+ do it in game, get used to it. But you're too young to understand I suspect.

Prices are rising in-game on everything (except Tree Cuttings and Ore lol), why should crystals (a standard money maker) go unchanged as well?

Sep, back off a bit... dang... ~_~ Sure you have a point, but there's no need to be rude about it.

sure, greed in a common issue, but Hinageshii meant EXCESSIVE greed, meaning the kind where people DO give up morals and ethics and all that just to earn an extra few gil...

Sure prices are going up... but aside frome everyone else gettign outthere and sellign everythign they wanna sell at half the listed prices, the prices won't go down much very quickly.

All we can reall do is suck it up and figure out ways to make more money... unless you have some kind of a plan to get rid of inflation...

Sorry Talisia, only reason Im snappy to Hinageshii is cause me and her have a feuding past, I almost married her current in-game girlfriend but she stole Chiyoyo from me /cry. Then she talks **** about me when she aint even got advanced jobs yet, and more importantly she booted me from Windurst-something LS, a LS I was invited to because one of my best real-life friends was in that LS. So she basically screwed me over like 5 times and I cant do **** cuz the instant i do anything its knife to sepukkus throats on the boards again, god forbid anyone ever write a hate post on anyone but me even though I see other people fighting/MPKing all the time.

My 10 cents...

I have several advanced jobs. Ranger (my favorite), Paladin, Summoner, Kunoichi, Bard, and Beastmaster.

Having advanced jobs doesn't always mean you're advanced.
