Ending Waitmagic and SaitaiyangFollow

#1 Sep 19 2004 at 7:44 PM Rating: Default
If anyone knows me, im not tempermental by nature, I just have a severe aggresive reaction to:
1. Snooty JPs.
2. IGE EMPLOYEES!! GRR

Anyways, I just got BLM to 21 and will be leveling WHM to 42 and be offering all Teleports for Free. Hours and hours on end. Until IGE no longer deems them profitable and discontues use of those 2 accounts. If anyone wants to help me level my WHM, help me out and set up a PT. Im online 8 hours a day on Monday-Thursday, 12-16 hours on Friday-Sunday.

Mmm'kay, you don't make much sense. All I gathered from that post are the words "free teleport". ^=^ which is never a bad thing.

Umm... how do you know they are IGE employees? And why are we supposed to blist them over any other WHM offering taxi service?

I've actually only just noticed them in the past two days, so I am asking honestly what the problem with them is?

How do u know if they are IGE employees? Well at times whit didnt know where or what Windurst was. Everyone that plays the game knows that windurst is a city, enough though they have never been there. And y the f would someone or some people do this, even for gil, if it would have just lasted a week, maybe, but this is just unbelievible.

What the heck is an IGE employee, and what are they doing that is so wrong? Dont mind my ignorance, but Ive been out leveling BLM, and I havent been back to Jueno in a while.

Someone who sells monopoly money (gil) for real life money (bling bling) to people who would ruin the experience of actually PLAYING the game just to have an easier ride when leveling up... would be an "IGE Employee".

The second you spend your real life money, even one small penny, on video game money, you've revealed to yourself that you're overly addicted and / or obsessed with this 'game'.

I was a firm believer in this also, and although I havent and wont spend RL money for gil in game, I have seen someone make a really strong point reguarding gil buying...He basically compared FFXI to any other "HobbY" ppl have that they dedicate time and money to...Some people restore cars, others collect crap, but whatever your hobby may be, chances are you are pumping money into it one way or another...Im pretty nuetral on this topic now, I just thought I would bring that up as food for thought ^^

I agree more with Sakitumi... if people wanna spend RL money to get gil then I say let them. I think SE should explore the possibility of doing it themselves though. As with companies like IGE or any other gil farmer company, their efforst to make the gil ingame is what is causing the problem for other players. Not the actual RL transaction itself.

*kloe goes to camp a NM*
*kloe's record for getting the NM 0/10000000*
*gil farmers record 10000000/10000000*

i know there are some poeple who can get the NM's but many times these gil farmers camp the NM 24/7 lessening the chance to get it tremendously. There is also the issue of gil farmers training mobs onto parties lvling, and then charging them for a raise. So sites selling gil do hurt people.

I'm not a big fan of gil buying just because of what it does to the game.

The low level aspect of the game will be unchanged... but I'm guessing once you hit about 18+ and start getting subjobs and such the items that you need for exp'ing, or crafting or whatever will all start to increase in price. I know lots of things are going down right now because of all the new groups of players offering it to try to make a quick buck but...

There are a bunch of players out there who play the game for only one reason. To make money. Not playing the game and using what they make, just turning around and selling it. This money is going to keep getting made... over and over... there isn't much in this game to limit the amount of money in the economy. The AH hurts that even more because you can turn around and sell your items to other players instead of selling them at a reduced price to vendors.

Any of you ever play Ultima Online? I played that game for about 2 years. I had one of the best characters on my shard becuase I played about 16 hours a day. I could make 50k an hour killing the second toughest monster in the game by myself for hours on end, over and over.

I quit playing a few years back and a couple months ago my roommate started playing. When I played 300k was an absurd amount of money.... now... he made over 1 million in his first month of playing. And the standard items everyone has are 1.5mil up to 30mil. There is just so much currency floating around that the actual value of it has been reduced.

The players in this game playing for money, and the AH, keeps the value of gil in our game going down. This is all money thats being added to the economy. Like if the US printed lots of money but didn't destroy the old bills... its called inflation and I havn't seen a game yet that can deal with it...

As a devil's advocate defense of Waitmagic,

Two of my friends (Tillis and Nikkibasara) and I were in Dangurf Wadi, leveling and we spot the Geyser Lizard.

We start fighting it, with waitmagic there watching, and we start losing. As pt leader, i invite him. Nikki and I die, with Tillis and Waitmagic surviving. I mistakenly say "go ahead and lot for the Steam Scale Mail" (which dropped), and fortunately Tillis gets it. After Nikki HP's and Tillis and I chat for a bit, Waitmagic sez "Give me all the loot and I will raise Vorrt". I say no since Tillis could just run to Bastok and switch to raise me, which Tillis does. As I am lying there, face first in a mixed puddle of lizard blood, hot water, and goblin whiz, Waitmagic shows back up and raises me anyway.

I don't know if i am comfortable with the idea of gil farming companies, but at least Waitmagic wasn't a complete **** to me.

Just my 2 cents and a can of Bebop Cola for ya.

I was in Gusgen Mines hunting for an RSE chest with a couple friends and they ran into some problems. My main is 38 whm and the other two were closer to lvl 30. I killed the first Wendigo without much problem but naturally people ran and undead aggroed and we had a couple more skeletons to deal with. Me and the others killed the second and the third was just too much. everyone was out of mp and almost out of hp and Waitmagic stepped in and helped.

Now please make note that Waitmagic is a tarutaru and we were hume F (RSE that week was ours not tarutaru). Seeing that we already had plenty of whm power he probably decided 'give me loot and I will raise' line wouldn't go over to well. Instead he said "Give me first chest and I will protect you."

I am not big on people doing things for me. If I need someone to kill a mob for a key drop then that is one thing. I hate even doing that but the game requires it on many quests/missions. Whm's may not be able to dmg mobs too well but we can sneak/invis with the best of them. I personally preferr the spells because the ninjitsu costs gil. spells don't. Anyhow the point is simple. To Waitmagic, I said "nope, not interested". Meanwhile at this time the person in our group needing to find a chest found one and started to run for it. Seeing the other player move, Waitmagic started to chase after her. The end result was that Waitmagic stole the chest from under my friend.

Of course, I know some people object to the term 'stole' in situations such as this. Yet as far as I am concerned, it is rude to do that. It may not to you, but /em shrugs. The end result is that I do not actually like Waitmagic and if he does indeed work for IGE I don't like them either. On a side note though, what the hell was Waitmagic after anyhow? RSE chests only give out force belts which aren't worth much.

I've seen them recently in S Gustaberg a lot, not sure why though.

Also, they also camp the 24 hr demons in Castle Zvahl Baileys. Check the sale history for Absorb-Dex scrolls.

Not to get off topic, but gusgen RSE chests give out Frost Shields or Replica Mauls if its not your turn for RSE. only Ordelles Caves give out Force Belts

waitmagic is played by at least 3 various players...if you're ever in Jeuno at different hours of the day (or night) you'll notice distinctly different shout macros during different hours.

I've since blisted both of them, so I don't watch for their shouts anymore.

One thing that's a bit annoying to us other white mages though are the folks who have been giving out reduced prices or free teleports. You've got at least thousand other whitemages that you're ruining the whole industry for, not just those two. (Remember when Halogen used to offer free ports for Dem/Mea/Holla? and how many folks were all pissed at him for doing it?)

I keep seeing people doing 250 gil or 400/800 gil porting prices to try to take away from Waitmagic/Saitaiyang. If the prices for ports eventually drop enough for the two of them to do something about it, and they drop their prices, and it'll just make it harder for white mages to make anything worth much by porting.

I think the person playing waitmagic just uses different macros for ports depending on the time of day (for example, when he thinks it's JP prime time, he'll add in yoroshiku).

I do know that it's definitely played by multiple people though (as if it wasn't obvious by his playing times). I briefly met waitmagic and his close knit of friends before he was known for a spammer. I helped a friend of his find a coffer for AF. Sometimes when we see each other he acknowledges me, other times nothing at all.

vorrt > i don't see how that comes to waitmagic's defense. didn't he want your loot just for a raise? just because he ended up giving it to you anyways does not take back the fact that he demanded that as payment in the first place.

splits > I agree, this undercutting of the porting market is hurting one of my only forms of income. last night both waitmagic and saitaiyang reduced their prices to 450/900... don't know if its permanent or not.

450-900? Ha! Hope they can undercut my 0/0!!
