While I was in Garlaige Citadel, Cuno spent 3 hours training bats, beetles, and anything else he could muster to the zone so that all 4-7 parties that were there had to stay outside the zone. If anybody walked in there'd be about 15 monsters waiting for them so they'd either die or come right back out, with the monsters back up next to the zone.

If it was long enough for the monsters to start heading back, Cuno would go back in and train them all back up again.

3 hours man. I gave up leveling that night and just logged off. I think our party killed some DC's in Champaign until one person leveled and then part of them went to go Tiger farming and the rest of us just logged off.

thanks for the input guys!! so case in point dont trust anyone with ur gear, gil, or time if u dont know them outside of the gaming world. if they wanna be dilholes i guess they can and gm's r powerless. so u gotta look out for urselves. as far as pimpsuit asking to try on the item and asking to tank as a whm lolololol. that is funny crap man id probably do the same in fact i know all kinds of ppl who JOKE about being a tank. sounds like in those cases he was just messin to be stupid. i wouldn't take that seriously if i were u. but the whole monster training thing is definitely @$$hole behavior.

You have to trust people in this game. You trust that they know how to play every time you pt. The point however is to know what you are doing. Don't trust a complete stranger with something that cost you a lot of time ingame to get. Don't trust anyone with something you aren't willing to ultimately loose; even if it's a real life friend. Real Life friends can betray you as well. Yet you have to trust people and in doing so you have to be willing to loose 'something'; otherwise you might as well find a new game to play, ideally something that doesn't involve other people.

In this game you can't use the normal body language we all use to detect the sincerity of someone. You can only base your lvl of trust on past behavior and repeated actions. You have to be willing to let go though and give people a chance. I am not saying give Pimpsuitt a chance because he obviously has 'proven' himself untrustworthy. I am saying that "joeshmo" who you have never encountered before.

oh oh I have a friend named Pawrn who was scammed for 650k gil by Pimpsuitt. The GMs did nothing, so he quit the game. I have more anger towards him then anyone else on the server. Pawrn was my first friend in this game, so this hurt alot to see him go down cause of some asshat like this guy. If I see the opportunity I will mpk him at any chance I get, and I don't care what consequences arise.

I have never partied with pimpsuitt, for the simple reason that i have heard hundreds of stories about him trying to scam people. Have you ever heard "guilty by association" ? Imagine for a sec, that you were in a party with him, and he scammed someone. You may not even know he scammed someone, but the fact that you were in the party wiht him when he scammed someone, makes it look really bad for you.

Ive seen the chat log where he robbed bald, and ive seen him try to wiggle out of things, and start trouble on other forums. I spoken to one of his RL friends, who hates the way he plays in FFXI (i dont trust that person either, but he seemed sincere). I dont need to be scammed, robbed, stolen from, or exposed to this crap to beleive it. I would rather not deal with any of that clan period, and that directly includes syth.

Diessalot is a really cool player, and person, so dizzlestick can dizzlestick it.

Chun, why we have to be a "lesser" LS?

Actually that was bobbyjai who robbed bald. Pimpsuitt just does a load of other things (such as asking you if he can test drive a monster signa to see if he likes it and then pay the gil later if he decides that he wants to keep it)

not to condone scamming but there's darwinism for you. "The stupid shall be punished"... and yes! it is stupid to give someone, you don't even know, something that is worth that much to 'try' out.

Yes my bad, to me bobbyjai, pimpsuitt, and syth are all the same person, so it is hard to tell them apart. :)

Anyone ever heard the saying "Theres no such thing as bad publicity" ??? Let this thread die already lol... those guys have made their beds just let them lie in them, no need to make them some kind of quasi-celebrity on the server.

Id like to think of it more like keeping their names fresh so no one forgets what assclowns these guys are. If no one talks about it, new players wont know to watch out, and people will forget them. If people forget them, then they will thrive again, and i would hate to see that happen.

#39 Sep 16 2004 at 12:57 PM Rating: Decent
You could also think of it as advertising their name which in turn would cause people to speak with them asking them what the deal is... giving them a chance to perhaps scam even more people. Double edge blade really I suppose. I know I have asked Pimpsuitt what hes done wrong before and he did act like a very nice guy... I also dont doubt that the guy would "Slit his own mamas throat for a nickel" (anyone name the FF that ones from ^^ lil trivia)

I actually asked about 10 high level BRDs or BSTs to borrow a monster signa about a month ago...well, I offered to rent one atleast...Im a mithra and leveled a BST to test the charm strat for BCNM's...so I was gonna do the bat one in the grotto, but being a mithra my CHR is already gimped...needless to say, I didnt get a very positive response :P Which is lame, cause I would never jack someone for something like that...and I also offered to split any profits I made with them...we were gonna do it 3 times ^^;
#44 Sep 17 2004 at 7:01 AM Rating: Decent
Thankfully Im senior enough these days that I dont have to do deck toothbrush scrubbing anymore... I just sit around on the internet posting on the forums... maybe doing some maintenance on my radar... Tax dollars at work folks... lame

Haha i gotta laugh at that one.

sakitumi, why in the world would a stranger loan you or rent you their monster signa? I wouldnt, and i dont think anyone else you dont know would. It has nothign to do with you, just that if you give it and never get it back theres nothing they can do.

#46 Sep 17 2004 at 9:51 AM Rating: Decent
yea, Im not saying I disagree with you...I was under the dellusion that since I had helped others out so much with random stuff, maybe karma would return the favor...I even started out my /tell's with "I have a pretty outrageous request/proposal for you... :P

Well, if in the future anyone here gets a simular request. PLEASE help! ^^ I wouldnt want to ruin my name in game by ripping someone off, and Im also the shellholder of my LS, so I wouldnt put that at risk either...then there is morals :P

But atleast I didnt /shout pleas for help like most idiots wouldve...I only spoke in /tell chat to the high lvl brds and bsts...and didnt annoy anyone, and had a good laugh with them about it usually...I even asked Water :P

Okay, first, don't flame me for this or something, because I agree that what pimpsuitt has done is wrong, and I'm 99% sure that he probably changed servers when the emigration was announced... probably so he could try and start fresh, if he didn't well, his loss. But, in respsponse to ll those that are complaining about a GM not doing anything about it. I'm pretty sure that in the terms of agreement, been a while since I've read through them, it states that SE will not be responsible for events and actions such as this. Now, GMs might not be true employees of SE, but they do work for them, making them part of SE. Just thought I'd put this up there, someone please correct me if I'm wrong. And people, don't just openly trust anyone, use some common sense.
