Just wondering who here mines, where and why do you like that place?

I personally have a favorite of Yughott Grotto, mainly because i go in with 12 stacks of picks, and out with anywhere from:
1-5 Gold Ore
3-8 Darksteel Ore
8-14 Brass Ingot (or 30+ Zinc)
6-15 Iron Ingots
Misc. other items include drops from Ashmaker

I have tried gusgen, but I believe there to be botters and it took me 5 hours to go thru 8 stacks of picks and the turnout wasn't so great. Oldton is my 2nd favorite because I sell helms for 3-4k ec. desynth moblin mask and mail, and help my LSmate of mine w/ moblin armor (leveling Clothcraft). I've also tried Pahlborough Mines and since plats are down like crazy now, I gave it up.

Also wondering if you notice botters in other areas, Oldton doesn't have any since I've last been there about 1 month ago, but it most certainly could've changed since then. I want to try Den of Rancor, and Mount Zhayolm but I'm not 75 yet.

Anyways, looking for your 2 cents if you don't mind giving it.

I used to mine in Gusgen alot, but i never really saw anyone i'd point out as a "bot". I stopped mining pretty much altogether since the prices of Darksteel Ore took a dramatic drop. 20k to like 10k wasn't payin da bills! Currently they're back up to 15k, though.

The reason i chose Gusgen was because it's really open, the mining points are spread out to the point where there's a chance of always gettin one. Besides, me and my friend would just sit there and BS for hours.

I've never mined anywhere else but Gusgen..I might go elsewhere. Peace.

Dunno if theres such thing as mining bots

But there were some chinese gil sellers who will just steal your point and run off (some are still around)

When I used to mine DS ores were 90k gold also and making silver and iron ingots made me alot of money (as a lv40-50 WAR that is)

Then the prices went down and mining no longer is worth the trouble

Now I'm poor /cry

{hmm.} Over 2 years ago, perhaps 3? Well I personally think its worth it but i also have 400 BSs saved up (i dont know why) but I enjoy the solidtude (ocassional visitor) and get to take all that pent up anger out on mobs. Per run I would say I make 150-200k with each run lasting about 3 hours, I'de say thats a good deal of profit.

Note: To all of you who undercut prices on ores (and ingots), PLEASE DON'T this is the only income some of us get to make and it really puts us in a bind if you undercut everything. I remember mid-year I had to mine once for a few k, and barely came out over the cost of picks and fire crystals.

The reason they get undercut so bad is because everyone does it. Folks in their early 40's-50's can't farm the tougher items, so they just mine. To be fair, i sorta got out of mining for that reason. Since i can farm the better (higher priced) items.

Cool part was when i went mining, i could trade all the useless ore and have my buddy synth em up for me. I'd have ample room for the good ore, but still the profit for me isn't there anymore. I need big money fast, so DS Ore isn't on the top of my list.

If you can mine up some Platinum in Oldton, thats real good money. It seems they never drop in price.
