How's the game these daysFollow

To make it short: I am not sure wether or not I'll get back in the game, I think I have been off for three pay-months and I don't want to do one of those... adventurer quests to get back in action. Is the game tainted by excaggerated nerfing, is it even harder to get hard-to-get items, are gil-sellers (or buyers, no discussion please) ******** economy stlll or is the game a bliss?

original text (with more side-tracking than sense (don't smoke and type))

/salute

I panicked this other day, when I found out that my transspeak is deteriorating... I am only able to shape short sentences pointing towards primitive behavior these days, like
{Drinks} @ {Tavern} {Tomorrow} ? and {Burn} @ {Spiral Hell} {Imp} {foods}
while in the good old days I would have long conversations involving scandalous slander that could've changed US elections:
{news}{paper} {Alertness} - {/check} {picture} =>> {Mega-boss} + {Mithra} {child} @ Mog House} - {child} {/shout} {Help me out!}

anyway, realising that my prime language for the last two years had gone rotten and stale, I was struck with panic and confusion, got up from my chair, ran indetermined around in circles, aimed and hit the far wall in the kitchen before I tried again and jumped out the window.

That was last week, I woke up yesterday from the coma that followed the jump I mentioned... and the nurse said I had been mumbling "F.. F.. X.. I.. must.. not forget.." repeatedly for two hours before I regained consciousness. When I woke up, I supposedly did so with a scream: "Not enough macros!!"

If Destiny had wanted it otherwise, and the jump had been fatal, the autopsy would have revealed that though my body is human and the cause of death breaking my neck, my heart is tarutaru and my hands have burn marks from a wide range of spells cast.

Seriously though, how's the game going? I haven't had the drive since january, and I am not sure if I even miss it. I know I miss my friends and enemies... I also know I miss hitting goblins with their own frying pans in Konschtat Highlands and skill up divine magic and archery as rdm in the Boyadha Tree... no sarcasm, hands down lol..

If the economy is more shrewd than screwed and a few people are still friendly with a touch of common sense I hope to be back in a couple of weeks. I tried EVE Online, it was fun but it felt.. awkward.. like if you were sleeping with your ex's younger sister (don't ask) or something else you'll most likely burn in hell for.. so I think FFXI is meant for me :D

{Friend list} {member}: drop me a line, I'll reply with a longwinded biased emo story of my last few exciting *yaaawn!* months lol... (wonder why I never get any mail)
new email address: frankwoctober@gmail.com, i finally changed from hotmail :)

peace and light, SD

Heyo, Stack!

Not sure if you remember me but it would seem that you have been suffering the same afflication as i did a few months back when i posted, "Help! i lost my FFXI mojo!"

Well, i am since then regained my FFXI mojo and have been playing actively for the past 2-3 months after a hiatus of 8-9months. it would seem that the period which i have returned, you left.

The reason for regaining my FFXI mojo, is due to 5 reasons:

1. My daughter is older now so i do not have to constantly babysit her which frees up more time for my gaming addiction

2. The release of the new expansion pack looks good with bew additons like "Assualt" and "Besieged"

3. I am now in a very supportive LinkShell with members mostly from my country, Singapore, and hence, it is a lot more fun and more enjoyable

4. One of my new colleagues just bought the game and i have decided to adventure together with him

5. Just because i love the game and have not tried so many things such as the BCNMs, HNMs, ENMs, Assault, Besieged, Ballista and i want to try them all. Also, i have not done Promy yet and hopefully with the help of my new LS, i can get it done.

I muast admit that things are a little better now with regards to Gil-farmers, selllers, buyers but seriously, why let such things get you down? No matter where you go or whatever MMORPG you play, there will be such people and all we can do is just to play the best we can :)

Looking forward to seeing you again on line and in case you are wondering, my char's name is Soulin and me am a Galka Paladin... :)

I remember you well, Soulin :) Glad to hear from you :) I replied to the post you wrote about FFXI mojo gone missing back then. It sounded fun to kick gobbie butt together with a galka PLD. I am a taru RDM and I've had great duo experiences with PLDs before. Two jobs that really compliment eachother, although the monster kills are never swift lol. ...I suggested we should do that back then, adventure a bit, since exp parties and more exp parties kind of drains the fun in the game.

If I return to the game I want to have fun with one or two others, kill stuff that pays the rent and give somewhat decent exp as well, I want to increase sword skill with merit pts, and have to get 500 points to get my convert timer down to 9:00 minutes (which is hardly a necessity in exp/merit pts but is nice during rough or unexpected fights in more adventurous settings).

I think last time when we talked ingame a few times it seemed you went to sleep when I got up and vice versa - because we're in vastly different time zones (I'm from Norway). In real life I'm trying to conserve money, so those 17 dollars or so a month is a very nice investment, considering weekends can be spent not buying overpriced tequila shots and sleeping with women of low persuasion :p At the time I'm also working 10-11 hours a day to pay the bills and clear my tab at my favorite bar where I also worked as a bouncer for a short period of time... as all the other employees, I too spent the money there before I made them lol

One of the things that makes FFXI a bad experience, is that I have alot of trouble making money. Even by interpreting the market through AH to the point of tediousity (not sure if that's even a word) and synthing accordingly I never seem to get money enough for the gear that I want. I doubt I can be called impatient either. Maybe cooking is too fast a lane to get a craft to 100, which seems to be a goal many wants to achieve. As soon as I make a large batch of say, sushi or mushrooms, someone else has been 10 minutes ahead of me, the underpricing starts and the pay-off is compromised beyond reason. If FFXI was real life, I would have put a 10M gil reward on Portland's head, that's for sure lol :)

FFXI was a double-edged sword when I played it, it kept me sane during 18 rather harsh months but it also ate up a great deal of time. It was too comfortable play than progress, and frankly, I fear that I will end up in the Zone again. That's also a reason I am a bit afraid to re-install and play again.

We'll just see what happens I suppose :)

And btw, no, I am not a righteous crusader against gilsellers. That, I have realised, is a losing battle and not my calling. It's one of the reasons I can't make a living on cooking though, that's what I don't like... when farming beehive chips is nearly as profitable, it kills some of the fun :)

Hey, Tenjuro, right? You're one of the best reasons I have to return to the game, I am sorry that I was always so busy the last times we talked and I hope that will change if/when I start playing again :) Glad to hear about your prospering Samurai, good luck with the rest of your AF... now that you're closing in on my RDM it makes a bit more sense to do stuff together as well as chat :) I hope you are well in real life too :) send me an email, please, you're the reason I posted it actually ^^

Yes, many names, same faces :). Also kyzoku ;). Damn i have missed you.

Its strange, because I actually did. Im used to have RL friends that i miss, but its really cool, you are the first person I actually 'cared' about enough through an MMORPG to miss. No offense Shindoraemon and Zhoutenryu, luv you guys too!

yes I am finally getting up to those higher levels, i'll actually be able to participate with them in events and fun stuff. And seriously, i cant wait. Ill say what many long time players feel.. its more about the friends.

SE has been banning gilsellers left and right..but we have weeks here and there where they are leveling back up where the players actually own vanadiel. (not ulli or Castle O. though) :) Although crafting is starting to exist in a vacuum, The past few months, the GS have really begun baring their teeth on that one. But in a system where items being removed from play barely happens, crafting has a ceiling. I took cooking to 60 to make myself au laits.. and alchemy to 40. I have crafted with several of my characters, and it seems that its better to seek personal reward from crafting, and not personal gain. (that is just for me ,though)

I have been looking for you alot, and the last time you were in i just thought.. 'oh hes busy crafting ill get back to him later'.. *poof* then youre gone! i imgained you've been up to some funny sh*t :D within the past few months. But i knew that at the very least you were keeping yourself happy (mostly) and entertained. I need to hear about more of the adventures of stackdump, and i will be emailing you soon :)!

STACKDUMP! <3
The game is doing fine~ I'm still there. ;) Economy wise, you'll get less gil for your beehive chips but the stuff you want to buy is equally cheaper too.
