This is my idea for this thread. I'd like for everyone to share stories of those who either inspire you, or you inspired, to play a particular job. Or the reason you play today. Here's my story.
There was this guy i knew when i pretty much first started. For the life of me i cannot think of his name..Since it had been maybe 4 months since i last saw him. I was browsing through my Friend's list, and noticed a quote that said. "Thank you for showing me DRK, Kane." I'm not sure why he was inspired by me to play DRK.
His name is different in game, then it is on the viewer. I messaged him, and never got a response. I don't think he plays anymore, but that quote kinda made me feel honored to be mentioned like that.
Now it's everyone else's turn! Who have you possibly inspired, or been inspired by. It can be about a job, or the reason you play the game.
Wanna mention real quick..No stories about "Oh i saw this guy totally sucking at RDM! So i picked it up to show him how to play it." 100th post, let's hope i can make it worthwhile!

My friend Strydor inspired me to pick up Summoner. Spira was my first SMN role model tho.

Well... my inspiration for lvling RDM to 75 is Munitia. He was a 59 RDM if im correct at the time when he helped me out on the rank 4 tower run. I was really impressed with RDM since he could solo anything in there. And the pimp looking AF offcourse...

So here goes: I used to be the original Orabu on our lovely server, financial troubles rose up for my mom when she lost her job, I had to sell the account to pay for her electricty/car payment, I only got a stingy $159 for a 73mnk haha.
A few months passed and I picked up EQOA:Frontiers for the ps2. Why? Cause it came with a 30 day free trial and I had nothing better to do other then work lol. Talking with some real close ffxi friends I realized I had missed the community. After being pestered for like, ever by Willowkarr haha, I decided I'd come back and she snail-mailed me a "Buddy Pass" and voila, I'm back now as Horizon.
Long story short, the Ragnarok community inspired me to come back to ffxi.
