a discount when purchasing gil? I'm just tired of the high prices that IGE charges. Could use a bit of a break. :)

ffxionline.com looks pretty barren, but I think a lot of the guide creators and other peeps are headed that way so maybe it will build up. Discontinued my premium here, IGE represents all that is evil in the world to me, guess it's time for a change. Total bummer...

No. It is owned by a company that has its hands in a variety of different things one of which is IGE. This site is not a RMT site. It really isn't that big of a deal.
The increase in their profit means more servers; faster loading times for us. It may actually mean better Admins who have time to moderate forums and take care of flame wars, trolls, karma campers etc
They are however, planning to raise the cost of premium, which from what i have read has been the same cost for 5 years.

I don't think this is completely right.
As I understand it, RPG Holdings is the name that IGE uses to distance itself from IGE and the negative connotation that goes with gilselling. Simply put, it is indeed IGE that is buying Allakhazam - just under a different name.
Even so, it's almost certain that money raised through Allakhazam is now going to go directly to IGE, the very thing Allakhazam detested so much along with the rest of the RMT movement. It's why a lot of people, including myself are leaving Alla or phasing it out altogether.
Pity really, but I guess business is business.

Nope, you're wrong. IGE created a parent company to throw idiots like you off the trail. The company that owns IGE is a dummy company, basically-it's only purpose is to fool stupid people into thinking it's not owned by someone it is. And it worked on some fools.
The company that bought Alla is, for all intents and purposes, IGE.
