This may all be conjecture but it's what I've gathered up so far:

To start the quests you go to Carbuncle's stone at La theine plateau.

Dialogue with him story etc.

You get a key item to "Bring you closer" to the avatar then you were when you did battle with them before.

Either way you go to a protocrystaland fight a bigger Prime Avatar with 4(?) 'elementals'. I have no confirmed info on these elementals yet or whatever the Avatar may call.

Either way, you collect something from each fight like the first fights.

I hope this sates some curiosity.

18 People, including myself, just attempted the Titan Prime 18 person avatar fight.

Here's what we learned:

You have to have all 6 prime avatar fights done (not sure about Fenrir) to get the key item from Carbuncle.

You do now need the fork to enter, only the ]Rainbow Resonator[. Each of the 6 beefed up Avatar fights leads to the final fight with Fenrir, which is where you get prizes, assuming.

Titan Prime has 4 earth elementals surrounding him, they will respawn if killed. Each Elemental has about 3,000 health and each can cast Quake and Stone IV and Stonega III.

They don't hit very hard but the respawn rate is bad.

Titan Prime is much harder and has a very large regen rate. We didn't even get him below 90%. Also, don't fight on Earth Day. -_-; We're all resting now to go for another run after Earth Day passes.

Will keep updated,

Drkyugi after Ifrit fight.

Quote:
Drkyugi: go over what? 13 SMNs 3 RDMs 2 BLMs, not much strategy lol
Blagoce: Just go over what ya did >.>
Drkyugi: after buffing, we ran up just out of aggro range
Drkyugi: all SMNs casted Leviathan and sent it into attack Ifrit
Drkyugi: we tried sleeping elementals but failed so we just let the elementals fight hte avatars
Drkyugi: then pretty much just keep on Ifrit with everything til near the end
Drkyugi: his 2hour is much deadlier now
Drkyugi: ive never been hurt by his 2hr b4 but this time it left me with 100 HP after getting through SS and Barfire with Water Staff equipped

18-man battle, 30 minutes. Prime (who hits HARD and has nasty en-spells) + 4 elementals. We're fighting Titan Prime at the moment and it has an en-slow that's kinda boss. Elementals repop when you kill them, and cast spells on the Primes to cure them. Despite all this, Titan at least isn't insane- we got him to 2% on the run where we went in blind, and this on Earthsday.

Ok, we cleared pretty easily.

MasterMind cleared fight directly before us, but they used manaburn strat (heard TC is doing this as well). Zen used balanced parties; our tank party was NIN NIN NIN BRD WHM RDM and that worked nice- you'll want a lot of erases on tanks in Titan fight. We only had 4 BLM, they started fight with Aeroga III on Titan and wiped the elementals. Titan respawns them very slow, they didn't come back till 50% HP. Like the old Primes, barspells and Carols cut a lot of the damage down. Heading for Shiva next, hopefully it won't be too much harder.
