To fellow Bastokers:

Congratulations! We've done the obviously impossible and taken over another nation's conquest area. Let us brag all over everyone and proclaim our Godliness! :D

To Windurstians:

Now you can stop deluding yourselves about how great you are.

Have a nice day^^

Umm, are you saying this out of anger, or just going for shock value?

You are a lvl 75, so youve porbably noticed a FEW conquest related things in the game, if you forget some, ill elaborate:

Conquesting benefits
1) Outpost Warps
2) Regional Vendors
3) Armor with the effect of "under own nations control"
4) More available items for your conquest points
5) More Signet givers (more crystals) & Home points
6) Amount of items available at regular hometown shops.

Every 2 hours or so, there is a conquest update. A great part of conquest is how it can implement a role-playing-ish compettion with other players, and can inspire unity among players of all levels that might not otherwise share a bond.

I mean, do you know what its like to have your home country in last place, you feel like you live in a third world country. Barely any items for sale, signet givers are few and far between and your conquest points cant buy jack.

Context is your friend!

No one competes over starter areas. You let us have Gusta and we let you have Saruta. If anyone thinks these takeovers were for anything other than outpost access, they're retarded. The only thing that matters about Conquest for 95% of players is outpost access.

When have I been the least bit competitive about it?

All the posts that mention starting area takeovers do quite flare up a competitive spirit from what ive seen on the rag board.

I agree with helping other countries get your starter areas for warps. But i think there is something inside people that brings out a competitive spirit when they get their area taken over.

Quite a few players care more than just the warp aspect. Think about the thousands of cooks on each server that save money and time buy being able to buy from the regional vendors.

Also, any good crafter can appreciate conquest points. I love the gear that i can get with conquest points. Clothcrafters, blacksmithers and goldsmithers can turn a relatively worthless 2000 or 4000 point item into a 50-200k profitable item at the AH.

Like freesword slops, crap by themselves but at a few pieces of cloth and lvl 14 clothcrafting skill, and youve got a a 30k pair of slacks great for a lvl 14 mage.

I'm probably getting out of context again, but conquest is really important to me personally.

*some* people let windurst have Gusta and *some* people let us (Bastok) get Saruta, but the thing is there were morons out there trying to "counter" the Saruta take over process (I was there off and on all the day before the tally and I saw it quite plainly). Fact of the matter is that there were not a lot of people actually in the game that seemed to understand that they were apparently "letting" us have Saruta. In fact I seen the /shout conversations get kinda ugly at points.. it was pathetic. Definately, as you said, retarded. But plainly people were taking it to be competition.

On a side note.. People who "let" you have something don't tend to insult you while you're taking it. Similarly, people who "let" something be taken don't turn around and gloat about it. And if you give a gift to someone, or you give something to someone for free, you don't gloat about it, yet thats exactly what Windurstians did, and thats exactly what Bastokans are doing now.

So basically I think the people who "agreed" upon it are actually in the minority. Which is a shame. I think this is a healthy thing and should be 0% competition. Its all about outpost warps for me. I have no beef with Windurst having taken our Gusta and I'm glad to have the outpost warp to Saruta, but either way its no sweat off my back.

But if its not about competition, people wouldn't be reacting the way that they have and are reacting to these "takeovers". Truth is, people *are* taking it as some sort of competition, which I never thought it was. And theres not much you can do to change the mindset of those people I suppose.

I'll do Kolshushu EFs if I'm free, but doubt I'll be trading equipment again anytime soon. Spend 5 mil this past weekend ><

That was your quote from your Congratulatory topic on these boards just last week.

If it's not a competition then why would you spend 5m to make sure you won?

He clearly said (and he is correct): "If anyone thinks these takeovers were for anything other than outpost access."

I sent a /tell or /shouted back at anyone shouting about "saving saru" needed to be done. Any windy people trading to the OP also got a /tell, but admittantly, that was only 2 names I was given.

I offered some of my Bastok LS-mates a constant OP-warp of low-level supplies to buy, though I wasn't taken up on it. I'm glad they got it, just as my friends were glad I got it. Congratulations, 1 more to go for you.

I *want* them to have it. I hope next week Sandy can take saruta.

This improves overall travel/journey times for a myriad of things when you're in a party. No more waiting around for your friends to get to Windurst/Giddeus/Balgas Dias/Fenrir bc. ;p It's benefitting everyone immensely. :)

Congrats Bastokans. :]

Aye, yes there is competirion between people that will never go away, but as a person who really just does not care about that kind of competition, it is MAINLY done for the outpost warps.

Congradulations Bastokers and GO FOR RONFAURE NEXT WEEK!!!

As for those who are rubbing it in others faces, we did it first, get off the soapbox and go home.

Now SANDY TAKE OVER SARUTABARUTA!!! In fact I want to see Sandy do what Bastok and Windy have not done yet and have controll over ALL THREE of Ronfaure, Gustaburg, and Sarutabaruta.

Thanks Bastok, you made my desire to Cap my Windy Fame (Last one not Hero) quite a bit easier ;)

Bur. Pen. was nice, but Sabur-Land makes things alot quicker. If we can get Sandy, that would be peachy as well :)

Do you know what an outpost warp is?
Second thought... can you read?

When Bastok tries to take Sandy and Sandy tries to take Bastok/Windy, every... please don't be gay and try to "defend" your country.
