Experience info for all you out thereFollow

One thing that drives me crazy is the lack of knowledge people have in this game, even from rank 10's. Or partial knowledge, rumors that people believe.

I will set this straight and please please pass this on.

Ok this may be a shocker for alot of you but here it is. Level range of a party DOES NOT have any effect on party xp directly. So you could all be lvl 75 and have a lvl 1 in your group and you would get the same xp if the lvl 1 was lvl 75.

Now you get a small, very small penalty when you are lower lvl then the highest member. Eg i lvled my whm 8 lvls below the tank, yes 8, and i lost around 9 xp a kill.

Now where the lvl range matters is if your tank is too low he gets hit more, if the melee are too low they have problems hitting, if blm or rdm is too low you get resisted.

Had a rank 10 whm drop party other day cause he was lvl 54 and highest member and rest of party was 56 and 57. He said 3 lvl difference no thanks and when back to lfp. He would have lost about 5 xp a kill in penalty.

And whm is the one job that can be alot lower then the other members, last time i checked, cure doesnt get resisted.

So please spread this info around, along with bsts pet doesnt ***** up party xp and drgs are actually amazing DD before 66 and good DD after.

PLEASE, stop the spread of misinformation

I agree with you Shuffles, even in TP burn parties at 75, if no whm is available I have even gone as low as level 70 before and xp for me was not affected at all.

And to tell you the truth when forming parties with my thf (61) I always end up with a 4 level spread...

The problem you run into with this is effectiveness of the party. You are right that level gap doesn't mean a TON of difference in the actual experience points, HOWEVER, it really depends on which member is the lowest.

If you have a WHM 4 lvls higher than anyone else, if you are fighting ITs to the WHM, the tank is going to get beaten to death. For melee's, they are going to hit much much less.

It takes a little thought to form a party with this much level gap. Yes, you can invite a lower whm - that shouldn't be an issue at all...the rest you need to be a little careful about, and adjust what you are fighting based on what your party looks like (what a thought).

If only that was a reality. Was in pt at 55-56, we had pld, brd, thf, rng, drg, whm.

So where do they go, kuftal on crabs.

I talked to them into going to krt on bats. Lets see all DD have dmg bonus to bats, seems like a good place.
