First off, I apologize for my second "item wanted" thread in two days. But it turns out that my previously-mentioned item was surprisingly easy to get, whereas this item is not, so here I am again >< {Please forgive me.}

I need up to 12-15 stacks of Giant Bird Fletchings (cloth 93).

I'm told these are a good way to skill CC from the mid-80s, PROVIDED you manage to sell them at not too bad of a loss.

Anyhoo, let me know if you're interested!

You can buy this at any starting city chocobo stable npc.

The requirement is the city must be no.1 for the week and you must be a citizen.

Maybe, but I suspect you're thinking of Black Chocobo Feathers ( http://ffxi.cannotlinkto/itemdb/3283 ). Somepage is usually pretty complete, and does say that those are only available when Sandy is in first, but it doesn't say that Giant Bird Fletchings (or Feathers) are available from any NPC.

I don't think you can buy these. They are made from giant bird feathers. Grommett, I'm willing to make these for you - send me a tell ingame and I will make them from a mule if you can provide the bird feathers. They aren't listed very often on the AH, by the way, because they don't sell, and when they do, sell for a HUGE loss.

Thanks Kamkam. I'm still hoping to snag a bargain, but if I can't, it would be great to be able to commission them, even if that means paying more. I'll /tell you if need be!

Actually, it's nastier than that. They're made with giant bird -plumes- rather than feathers (those do get used here and there, but not for this recipe- things like Green Berets use em).

So don't buy feathers and think you're set to fletch!
