Have anyone else ever noticed the mass amount of people that are WAY to serious that play this game?

I've ran into people who think if they die they have to go buy the game again and re-download it XD

It's crazy

Maybe they're just really hardcore RPers? ^_^

It's funny, because I often laugh when I die (hey, sometimes it IS really funny), and some people take that to mean that they think i 'enjoy' dying. I DON'T enjoy dying, but hey, i'd rather laugh it off then get all pissed off and grumpy because of it.

Everyone plays games for different reasons, and many take their game-playing experience to different levels of seriousness.

Some people don't have much time to play, so for them, every minute counts, and dying can mean that an entire XP session was for nothing, especially when you eat an R1 in later levels. Losing 2k XP from dying, while in a crappy party that only got you 3k in 2+hours can definitely suck, but the reaction can vary wildly, based on a persons mood, attitude, outlook and various other factors.

I would say the 'be-all-end-all' attitude is the exception, not the norm though. The majority of players I encounter are pretty laid-back and don't take themselves or the game too seriously.

Oh, don't you start pointing fingers at Vedrice again, he's hardly on enough to lvl his bst nowadays. How about you let your ********* drop for once, and own up to the fact that you may just suck at life.

<--- somewhat numb to death.

I'll probably attain death-emotion immunity once my BST reaches the 70s. :/

/wave to Chemosh.

Very True, if you take bst to a high level you start to rack up the death numbers.

But to be honest, if you can find a good duo or trio partner you don't die very often post bst 66.

I think I have died 6 times from bst 66->72 and those death are attributed to fooling around stupidity (try something I really shouldn't, but what the heck I'm a bst I will give it a try type stuff). I haven't died once while in a bst xp party during that same period.

Sometimes Dying can be funny, but for example,

being in CN the other day with a THF lvl 40 who didnt know how to SATA, didnt know what SATA was, and was carryng a lvl 1 dagger,
and everytime he pulled he got killed...losing our time, i dont see thats funny.

Or people that cause in 2 hours party was not able of getting more than 1k exp...
and saying: Hey guys, it might not work on those mobs,
Leader: It does
No exp in 1 more our: Man I am gonna leave i have beeing here with same party for 3 hours, and we have got 1500 exp, you are losing my time sorry
Leader or some member= This is a game man, it doesnt matter if you lose time....

I hate that comment....cause perhaps some people can play for over 10 hours a day, but if i can only play 4 hours and they lost me 3 H + time seeking... they have lost 4 hours of my play time, wich isnt very extensive....

Just My 2 cents

You have to be serious sometime in this game, like Exp party, Missions, and BCNM. I know this is online game but remember this.. this game is full of community that use their time for this game.

Let's put this into a diffrent perspective for a moment.

I am an artist. I create incredibly pleasing eye candy. I draw at a profesional level, I sculpt at a profesional level, and i paint at a near profesional level depending on who you talk to. I create profesional 3d models and animation.

In my free time i try to hone my skills. Even though it is a recreation (when I am not getting paid) I am still trying to progress and put out a better product than before. I try to explore new techniques and perfect them.

Should I stop taking my progresion less seriously just because I am not being paid at the time? I would say no.

To slack off as an artist reflects badly on myself.

These principles can be carried over to any aspect of ones life though. Conversely there are other questions that should be resolved with ones self to make the former statements more relevant.

Do you want to contribute poorly just because it's a game? Do you want contribute poorly because you don't know what's going on? Or do you want to contribute porly just because you could care less?

Either way it's a question of self worth that needs to be addressed. Is your output so good that that this game is but a mear speck that can't possibly garner your full attntion and resolve? Then why play it? If you can't or don't have the time to dedicate then why show us your half finished play style?
