I've kept quite for a long time now, but no more.
I frequent our server board quite a bit, in hopes I can help someone, make a new friend, etc.
Unfortunatly, a lot of what I see is people:
A. Whining about job nerfs
B. Complaining about other players
C. Complaining about botters/gilsellers
D. Constant flame wars between players
E. People complaining they got "cheated"
I, for one, am absolutely sick of it. These boards should be about helping people, looking for help, offering FREE services (unless involoving synthing, that I can understand), and giving USEFUL advice... Rarely do I see that.
That being said, if ANYONE (I don't care if I like you or not) needs help, please feel free to give me a /tell in-game and I'll help in anyway I can. Doesn't matter who you are.

B. This is a good thing. If my friend Jon knows that my friend Steve is gonna try and borrow money from me with the intention of ******** me over I want to know before hand. This holds true in the Real World and I have no problems with it carrying over to FF.
C. Yah it's old i think on this board it has tapered off though.
D. lol The internet was invented to anonomysly degrade and flame people. that and ****.
E. I think that refers to point (B) that you made. I think if you have been cheated by a player you should refer that character by name. Witch brings us back to point (D)

I think its all pretty entertaining.. If you are really being hurt by what is being posted on a board, maybe you should get off the internet and go pet a fluffy pink kitten.
Are you serious? Compared to many of the other server forums, this place is pretty dead. I'd say any conversation is good conversation.
Likewise, when you compare use to the other said server forums, the drama here is minimal. o.o

It used to be far worse actually. I think the majority of the Drama Queens left. Though there are still some trolling about.
But Beldin is right. There's way to much of this (even IN game). I've pointed it out before and I'll do it now, go read the other MMO threads on Alla, you don't see 1/3 of the drama and childish behavior you see on the FFXI forums (generally speaking).
Usually though I find the most drama rich and utterly fantastic posts to be the ones that are the funniest. Since the worst usually make it out that some person somewhere in the world did something so horrible in a game that it destroyed their life, universe and everything. Nothing was ever that person's fault, they were total victums. It's funny in a way. most of it boils down to immature people lashing out and ranting because they take this stuff WAY too seriously. Sorry but if you need to unload a 3-5 page rant about a player, the game, a drop, a LS or whatever, you have major issues that only therapy is going to solve. And lots of medication.
