Been trying to lvl jobs under 60 forever. When i do a search on pld from 5-50 i averarge betweed 15-20 a night. And nins about 24.
As you can see, it can be hard to find a tank.
I think I start the taru pld cause nin too expensive

At lvl 50 you see the same thing lfp, 3-4 blms 2 thfs, maybe a monk.

You'd be suprised at how well non traditional parties do. I've had them before with no tank and no refresher and still got awesome experience. Trick was whoever could efficiently sub nin did so and the mages helped take turns curing while doing our other jobs. We were able to keep chains going by everyonep pitching in. Just have to be extra careful if you are a mage to not pull hate if there is no voker. :D But stoneskin/blink help.
I'm taru myself and, although I have PLD unlocked, I haven't leveled it yet because I think it WILL be expensive, at least to do it well (the very best food and armor and rings, perhaps even some pricey au laits). Please let me know how it goes for you.
I'm a lower level taru pld (level 20), and to overcome some of the weaknesses of being taru i.e. low vitality and low hp, it was very necessary for me to spend the gil on obtaining good quality equipment to survive. The larger taru mp pool is helpful, but if you get 1 shotted by a mob, it doesn't do much good.
I am lucky I can craft alot of the equipment I use and then sell it on the ah when I'm done with it.
It is a challenge, but it is very doable to be a good taru pld.
