Another MPK BOLOFollow

This happened yesterday to my party as we resting from a particularly rough battle with a gobbie in Yuhtunga Jungle.

A player by the name of Kasera, a ranger, was pulling another gobbie towards the zone to Kazham. At first it just seemed like they were running away from it, but they were /anon so I could not tell exactly what lvl they were. Our party was sort of near the zone, but we were well off to the side that it was blatantly obvious Kasera was leading the gob to us when he/she came over towards our group. Once it was in the middle of our group, Kasera used Shadowbind on it and ran a little further away, didn't zone. The gobbie then starts beating up on our Samurai ( thankfully it didn't go after one of our mages >_< ) And of course it was claimed by Kasera and we couldn't voke it away or anything. I sent tells to him/her but got no response.. reported to a GM who was actually rather friendly, knew of the series I books where I got my in game name from :)

I'm unfamiliar with how ppl MPK except two ways: BSTs who "Release" aggro mobs near others, and mages who warp out leaving aggro mobs behind, near others.

Wouldn't Shadowbind keep aggro on the RNG? I guess what I'm saying is, "apparently not, but it seems like it SHOULD if the RNG hasn't zoned."

Shadowbind works the same as bind. When a mob is binded, it will turn on whoever is closest to them and start unleashing until bind wears.

I never knew that about Bind. You'd think I'd know by now as 39BLM, but Bind is a pretty rarely-used spell for me. (Used it a lot when I first got it, and when aggroed while alone. Have also heard that it gets used a lot in endgame and in special situations like Ballista, Garrison, BCNMs, etc., but I actually haven't done those yet.)

Will a bound mob, once unbound, return to whomever bound it? Or is the answer "it depends" (on whether the bypassers have fought back and added hate)?

Can't fight back when its bound because unless the other person engaged and disengaged or CFH it's still going to be claimed by them but fighting you until bind wears. Then it goes back to the person who has claim.

We didn't touch it, couldn't touch (was still marked purple to us) We didn't stay long enough to see if it would go after the ranger again after being unbound, we all just zoned..

lol the fun part about accusations like this, is if you make them and the other party doesn't even check these forums, they get labeled as an mpk'er without any chance of rebuttal. He says him doing that was provoked by abusive tells as he was zoning it. Then after he bound it, he recast utsu, barraged and ees'd it dead. But hey let's lead a pitchforked army against him anyway n.n

Witch!! He's a witch!!

Well why did he have to do it in the middle of my party? -.- We had just gotten there, we had no beef with him. And seriously now, do you want me to apologize for calling him out? Volatile players like that still need to be watched whether MPKing was his goal or not. The point is, he pulled a mob in the middle of our party and let it start beating us up for a bit. If he doesn't want to be labeled as an MPKer then he shouldn't be pulling stunts like that :)

So, um... you're not actually denying that he admits to doing it? You're just saying that he considers himself justified because he got some "abusive tells"?

So, after he did it, the other party zoned, then he killed it because he knew it was going to come back after him? I'm unclear on how finally killing his own mob, after shadowbinding it to attack another party, clears the slate and makes it okay.

Sometimes people deserve what they get. Thats all Im saying. **** somebody off and they deserve to be able to kill you sometimes.
