Tonight I tried to use the "Return Home to Vana'diel Campaign" to reactivate my character.
In January I deleted my character prior to cancelling my content ID. I now would like to return to the game and saw an opportunity with this new campaign to return with my old character.
The PlayOnline web site states the following:
* The above eligibility also applies to applicants who have deleted their characters on their Content IDs before cancelling the ID itself.
This statement led me to believe that although I may be able to reactivate my content ID through normal means, through this campaign I could reactivate it with my deleted character information as well.
That is what I was hoping to do and why I wanted to come back to the game. I filled out the application, but was told I was ineligible. I contacted phone support and was told the same.
I was told I was ineligible because I could technically reactivate my content ID. However, even though I can reactivate my ID, my character data is still not available because I deleted it. Based on the statement on the web site, I believe I was mislead.
I am very dissapointed after getting my hopes up that I could return to the game with my old character. They are losing a potential returning customer based on this.
I can't believe that they don't still have my character data available. Especially since they are running a campaign that goes back a long way and gives people the ability to get their deleted information back.
I'm so angry right now because I was so looking forward to being back in-game.
