Teleport Survey Please respond :o)Follow

#1 May 19 2005 at 1:04 PM Rating: Default
Doing this on every server forum, out of curiousity.
What do your teleports run?

Does 1,000gil Mea, Holla, Dem
2,000gil Altep, Yhoat, Vahuzl
Sound incredibly outrageous?

J/w for reference reasons.

That seems to be the rate on my server. But then again erase costs 700k anymore I think.

Well, here is my opinon which many people will view as worthless... anyway If you jack the prices up that much, you will lose business crazy as other whitemages will undercut u.

Say you increase it to 500, I'd still pay.

My 2 gil:

1. SHOUTS BY TAXIS (as opposed to shouts by passengers):

a. Jeuno: 500 is more common for crags than 400 now, although I see both a lot. Altep & Yhoat, 700 average. Vazhl 1000 average.

b. Other cities' main-market areas: Rare to see shouts at all, and fares vary widely from 400 to 1000 for crags. The "higher" teles' prices (Altep, Yhoat, Vazhl) are about the same as in Jeuno.

2. SHOUTS BY PROSPECTIVE PASSENGERS.

a. Jeuno: Rare, because taxis are still prevalent -- although NOT as prevalent as 6 months ago. But when these shouts occur, they are about double the rates above (1000, 1500, 2000).

b. Other cities: I often see shouts **offering** 400-500 for crag teleports, but the thing is, they obviously don't result in a teleport deal! The shouts that "work the first time" seem to be those that offer 1000 or more for crags and 1500 for other 'ports.

I read about this topic in WHM Forums. But Rags prices are still the same. Maybe 500 M/H/D 700 A/Y & 1k for V

Less taxis now then before (imo), I'm not the type to /sh every 2 minutes I just look for tells asking for a lift and take them. Still can pull 10k gil in a short amout of time.

Sometimes I have seen no taxi's (about 3pm est) I'll be at the AH in Jeuno and get bombarded with tells if anon not on. Then, I gas up the taxi till I see others offering. I hate not being able to find a taxi when I need one, so if I can help another - so be it.

G'luck with ur survey!!!

I was in a hurry to get to Vahuzl today and I did a /say {teleport Vahuzl} Please, near the Lower Jeuno Moghouse.

A whm who was casting teleport vahuzl at the time, stopped casting and invited me along. I was thankful and while she didn't ask for any gil, I was glad to give her 2000 gil for her help.

I started playing this game as a whm, and I have gone through difficult periods of gameplay trying to save up for expensive items like erase, phalanx, dispel etc, so I sympathesize with their plight.

I would have no problems paying 1000 for a teleport to Alteps, Yhoat, Vahuzl from the tele services or if no teleservices were available, I would be more than willing to pay 2000 gil. That 2000 gil paid for a quick teleport would save me a significant amount of time versus running my way to these distant destinations.

If you are unwilling to pay for teleservice, you do not have to utilize them. There are other ways to travel around....airship, chocobo, fort teleport service etc. ~~~> have whm friends or friends from your linkshell teleport you around if they aren't busy :)

I usually try to tip when I can. It's not uncommon for me to pay 1k for the main 3 crags and 2k for just about everything else when I have the money to spare.

On the other hand, it's not uncommon for me to give free teleports either. If I see someone shouting for awhile before I'm leaving town with a teleport myself, I will invite them and not charge. I don't advertise as I am not a taxi service. And if I'm going out of my way, yeah I'll charge. But if I see someone shouting with no luck for 30 minutes asking for a dem and I'm about to head there myself, I'll take them along. The way I see it is if they've been shouting for that long, then obviously no one is around to take advantage of the business.

Minor, minor update:

I was synthing ammo in PORT San d'oria this morning -- not the usual place for any kind of tele shouting, either by taxis or by prospective passengers, who usually try in SOUTH Sandy instead -- and a guy was shouting for a Holla teleport for 2k.

I took THAT deal. FWIW, I personally would not have gotten off my crafting *** (... 'cause crafting is profitable too) for much less than that, THIS parTICular morning anyway. Others might have, of course.

Vanyal, OT but I want to /praise you for your crafting prowess. I would gladly trade my 74 WW to have so many of the other crafts up to 60!

Thank you Grommet for your kind words.

You seem to have a good grasp of the crafting and economic system in FFxi; and consequentially, I believe you may play an influencing factor on crafting on our server in the future.

I'd gladly pay 2k for a Crag teleport if people were actually advertising 24/7 and were quick about it.

However...
