Basically the #1 rule when camping something is every adventurer for themself. Even if you sorta know them. I would've just cheered them on for luck. You know how things are these days from the other whiney posts around here.

Well I see Patb around frequently so my opinion of them will definatly change if our paths intervene.

Quote from the LS website

"
you are right about the story, but its not just scamming, i was getting those people back, they lied to me and zid about how much money they had and tried to give us something stupid like 300k as "collateral" for when they got back to town. Does this sound like a fair trade? our hairpin for 300k and someone's word? i think not. What zidana doesn't know, is that when me and elvantee agreed to trade the boots for collateral, he put up lizard feet peices first, and expected me to not notice. I was mearly doing a favor and teaching him a lesson. Zidana i'm sorry you didn't get money, but contact me and we'll go get you a pin of your own, i wont stop till we get one. Sorry this misconvieniece made it to the forums, it involved noone in the ls but me. "

This whole episode points to something I find troubling in game (in general).

There is a rapidly developing "Gang" mentality. It is the same mentality that fuels Gang violence that is slowly invading this game. The 'I did it back to him to teach him a lesson' mentality.

Let's see. Gang A kills a member of Gang B, so now Gang B must kill a member of Gang A to "teach them a lesson". This of course is ok, because hey, he they gotta learn right? Of course now Gang A must "teach a lesson" to Gang B. Makes sense.

Let's apply it to everything.

Parent sees child beating dog with a bat. Parent beats child with a bat to 'teach him a lesson'.

Kid sees Dad beat the hell out of Mom becuase mom forgot to cook dinner on time, so she has to be 'taught a lesson'. So kid beats the hell out of a classmate to teach THEM a lesson.

Excuse me.. but when I was about 5 years old I was taught that two wrongs do not make a right. In fact, they tend to make many many more wrongs.

If you steal from a thief. You are a thief.
If you kill a murderer. You are a murderer.
If you con a con. You are a con.

You aren't a teacher, Robin Hood, or some higher moral authority. You are the same as those you claim to hate so much.

As for whoever said "never trust", I'll go one better...

'Trust. But Verify!"

Very good post and point Airamis. However, i think you meant to say "2 wrongs do not make a right" as opposed to what you said "2 rights do not make a wrong". Just pointing that out to you - as i said, you make a great point, and i don't want it to be lost by a simple typo.

Actually i was trying to be a bit of a smarty pants.... sometimes my humor goes a little to the odd side. But you're right. Two wrongs don't make a right...though three rights make a left :)
