ok, so my name is Randomerror, course, and i was out with Forevergogo, my significant other, both ingame and out X3... anyway, so her WHM is 31 and my RDM is 30. so, well, we ofcourse party. setup was BLM RDM WHM THF WAR WAR...
now sounds like a decent PT, we have tanks, SATA and nuking... mandys dropped fast. so first fight... goes well, hmm no SATA... we explain SATA... 2nd fight... still no SATA... move to about the 15th fight, i get pissed and go insane on our 2 wars and thf....

WAR <mob WAR THF.... how hard is it ><
anyway, long story short, it took the 2WARs about 1.5 hours to figure out how to SATA, the entire time i was thinking, wow, im doing more damage then these guys, and im using fscked up equip. (i was meleeing and casting and doing about 50-100 more damage then the WARs (one using Axe, one using Gaxe)
after a time, we disbanded, and well, i made another PT, and got about 2.5k xp in 30-45 minutes. got 4 people lvled and 2 people about 1/2 to next level.
was it wrong for me to get pissed at the group?
oh and cynthya, im sorry for going off... didnt mean to sound like an asshat. ; ; please forgive me (i was sorely pissed at those WARs... one of which said, we dont need SATA... (when sata was doing 130-200 damage)
really makes me wonder about the state of the game... has Yhoator Jungle become the new Valkrum Dunes that we all hate?

We are all new to the game at one point or the other; and consequentially, inexperienced and lacking in knowledge. Hopefully, the "experienced" people can have the patience to instruct or give pointers to the people who need it.

As been mentioned in previous messages in other posts, there is an increased spat of PL which might be symptomatic of people leveling their jobs quickly and perhaps not learning the mechanics of the job well. Another reason is the possibility the playing account was purchased or is borrowed by a friend/sibling of the owner who wished to try out the game. Or lastly, the player might actually be that bad of a player....take your pick?

Yhoator Jungle is the first place SATA is used in the course of levelling. It can be a difficult thing to master, both for the THF and the tanks. Heck, some people go all the way to endgame without having to be a SATA partner.
I wasn't there, so I don't know exactly how it went down, but from what you type, it appears you were a bit early to fly off the handle in my opinion. If, after a calm and polite explanation (or two) they still weren't getting the picture, and obviously weren't showing any signs of getting it any time soon, then yes. Perhaps they deserved a piece of your mind. True, this is a game, but it's a community also. That means having fun, and at least trying to help others have fun with you.

anyway, yeah, i explained it, THF explained it, gogo explained it, i explained again, used myself as "mob" to "demonstrate" SATA... yes, i did all those things before flying off the handle and unleashing my inner DRG.... i starting missing LFG as a DRG in this PT... and im only 42DRG XD
anyway, yeah, i kinda feel like an ***, but still... SATA isnt hard... guys, if you dont know it, please learn it...

Ok but for 1 1/2 hrs Random. tried to teach them how to do it, again and again. I know a lot of higher levels would have booted them after 5 minutes of not getting SATA down. To me he showed a ton of patientence and didn't boot them...Now that is something.
Ok I know 1 1/h hrs is way to long for someone to learn SATA considering that you have had 15 levels with SA already and know you have to be behind the mob to hit it. TA justs adds more fun.
I know when I was up and coming I was a war/thf with sturmwind before I switched paths to become a Dark Knight. I earned how to SA Sturmwind in 5 minutes and some really nice higher levels taught me how.

Heh, I remember when I first hit lvl 30 with my thief I was eager to go out and start smacking monsters around with SATA ^^ And fortunately, the first party I got a chance to use it in, was an excellent one. The war provoked the monster and stood still while the pld lined up directly behind it. Piece of cake, really. Like you said, it really isn't a difficult thing to setup. And it really annoys me when I get into a party with people who don't know how to setup for SATA, it really makes the thf look like a pathetic melee if don't get to sata every minute, lol.
The last party I was in the crawlers nest, we had a mnk, war, sam and myself as the melees. The mnk voked first... but then started running around in circles... much like newbies do when they first start playing the game, thinking they can avoid hits or something. I told him to just stand still after voking and that the hate would be off him quickly. He says Ok.. and then I go out and pull another crawler... but this time he doesn't voke it off me >_> So I'm almost dead when the war vokes it off of me. Then everyone gets annoyed at him. I think he alt-tabbed out of the game cause he just sort of disappeared after 30 seconds and never came back. As a thief, that kind of thing really annoys the hell out of me. And I'm sure the other party members were angry as well cause the reason you invite a thf is for sata and viper bite at my level. *sighs* So I don't think it was wrong of you to get pissed at them. Setting up sata really isn't rocket science. Players at lvl 30 should be able to handle it. These first vokers who start running around in circles are really a pet peeve to me >_<

nah... i declare (since the servers are down) that thiefs and SATA partners etc can rant about n00bs today, until the servers are back up, so we can rant in our respective LSes... XD
